Who said anything about Robbo for 5? If someone did, yes, thety are dreaming. 15 at the highest imho.

i think more likely trade for robbo would be pick 22 and 38 from the bulldogs (2nd and 3rd round picks).

i think this is probably a fair deal for both sides, especially considering robbo is 28 (turning 29) and we will probably need to release him to ease the salary cap pressure if judd comes to Melbourne.

for me the best possible trade week would be:

trade 1:

Judd to Melbourne.

pick 4, pick 21 and johnstone to WestCoast.

trade 2:

Johns Meeson to Melbourne (in 'TheAge' is reported that the demons have offered Meeson a contract and he has been asked to be traded to us)

pick 37 + a sweetener (maybe Miller or Jamar considering theyv lost 2 ruckman this off season) to Adelaide

trade 3:

Pick 22 and 38 to Melbourne

Robbo to Bulldogs.

overall:

Melbourne Gain: Judd, Meeson (basically the same 2nd and 3rd round picks)

Lose lose: pick 4, johnstone and Robbo

means in the off season we'v lost 7 players 28 years and older, gained the best player in the afl, a promising young ruck to take over White.

=massive win for Melbourne.

----trading robbo for picks will be important especially if we give away our picks for Judd. we dont want to end up with our first pick at pick 60

Sounds good to me

Like ur thinking Sylvinator. Meesen for Pick 37 and Jamar (he is from SA i think) would work in our favour. But do you really think the Eagles would want another midfielder(johnstone). They have about 8 or 9 already. I would think maybe a small forward. Not sure who though. Tough choice really!!!

i know it doesnt mean anything, but all the rumours indicate the deal is Johnstone, pck 4 and pick21.

this is a pretty fair deal imo, but obv we are getting Judd for under market value if he chooses us as his prefered club.

Johnstone is a direct replacement for Judd in the WestCoast starting 18. without a tagger he will be awesome for them.

pick 4 gets them a highly rated WestAustralian and pick 21 as well.

Johnstone will get tagged wherever he goes. TJ is destructive but teams know they can shut him down and kill his influence.

Kerr and Judd have shown they can work over taggers so teams will target TJ. Hopefully we will too.

The latest rumor is Frawley to saints for pick 9 then pick 4 and 9 to WCE for Judd. Two top ten picks is a fair deal IMO as WCE need to rebuild in order to change their culture.

If the bullies get Robbo and Hudson they may well in a complicated set of swaps give up pick 5 via Crows and we get Meeson plus a good draft pick.

The Crows will be keen to rebuild with some youth and the Bullies have some good young players at the club. Robbo would be very good for the Bullies.

From memory i thought Meesan had walked, and that he wanted to play for the Dees, and i also believe that Carlton and Richmond both said that they weren't interested in Meesan or Hudson, so the fact that we'd offered him a contract would imply that there's a good chance we'll pick him up in the PSD for nix if he said he wasn't interested to any other club

according to the 'informed' westies.. Trapper wont go west...apparantly he might go somewhere...lol.. just not west.

Ah ...got to love speculation :)

Gunna be one hell lof a busy trade week for a change...lol

The latest rumor is Frawley

Be stoked if we trade him. He's been the only first year player in recent years who hasn't shown a thing.

So in order to get Judd, we would've only lost pick 4 and Frawley...highway robbery!

keep in mind Perth is the most remote city on earth... might get a little clustrophobic for some !!

Dunno why he (TJ ) wont go west...dunno why it was even mooted that he would in first place....this is eaglespeak.. Not us !!

Frawley didn't show much? I must have been watching another Frawley play in red and blue.

Frawley is the key defender who can run out of defence we have been looking for over the past decade. This guy is going to be something and you can already tell he will not have any problems bulking up.

If there is an area where can least afford to trade it is key position big men as we simply don't have any quality proven KPP at this stage.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
