The perfect trade week. We pick up the best player in the land, a good tap ruckman, a speedy midfidleder with great skills and a handy KPP than can play either end

- Demons send Cameron Bruce, Pick 4 and Chris Johnson to West Coast

Recieve Chris Judd

-Demons send Brad Miller to the Brisbane Lions

Recieve Cameron Wood

- Demons send Russell Robertson and Mark Jamar to the Western Bulldogs

Recieve Farren Ray and a 4th rounder

- Demons send a 3rd round pick to the Adelaide Crows

Recieve Ken McGregor

ur 2rd trade would be considered an insult to Brisbane. Wood in a young, promising ruckman who won a rising star nomination this year. ruckman (ala Jolly for pick14) have extremely high currency.Brad Miller is most likely going to get delisted in MFC cant trade him. Miller is worth maybe a 3rd or 4th round selection. Wood in worth a 1st round pick.

get serious before suggesting trades.

the other trades seem reasonable...

but the truth is that we wont be making more than 1 or 2 trades. last trade period only 9 players moved clubs! trade period is fun to speculate but it is ALWAYS much more uneventful than anticipated.

Why would Eagles want to fill up a space on their list with Chris Johnson?

He is a W.A boy , and Worsfold gets the best out of everyone

He resurrected Steven Armstrong and CJ is way more talented

WE CANNOT TRADE CAMERON BRUCE!!!

It's time to move on from that idea.

Agree. There is no way Bruce is going.

I would love Cameron Wood for Brad Miller. If brisbane think that they can turn Miller into a better player and we get Cameron Wood out of that deal I'd be delighted.

Jamar is a hack so i am not sure that adelaide will want to pick him up in trade week. If we delist Jamar then then i think that Carlton might pick him up in the pre-season draft. Carlton hoped that Cain Ackland would be the ruckman they thought he could be but that didnt happen so IMO they might pick up Jamar in the Pre-season draft.

I can't see Cameron Bruce, who is getting married soon, has lived in Melbourne his entire life etc... moving to Perth.

We are not trading Bruce. Time to find better alternatives.

West Coast are apperantly looking for an early pick and a good developing player.

How about...

Pick 4 + Sylvia (throw in pick 20 if they want)?

And before everyone attacks me, think very carefully whether you'll miss Sylvia when you have Chris Judd running around...

Posted

i think 4 and sylvia could be a deal breaker. i can see sylvia being good, but not as good as judd. sylvia is a player i dont believe we would miss from our current structure, because he hasnt yet got fit enough to own a position.

imagine judd in our team, he would get the tag, meaning TJ and brock can concentrate on getting the footy...

Dunno about Sylvia, I mean, we know with a full, injury free pre-season he has the... yeah, the p word, i hate saying it all the time but it's true... Basically I think Sylvia may be worth more to us then his his face value to west coke.

That's a fair point.

How about Pick 4 + Aaron Davey?

*ducks for cover*

I'd be reluctant to part with say James Frawley who West Coast rated very highly in last year's draft, and I'd even be reluctant to part with Lynden Dunn or Matthew Bate, but at the end of the day, Chris Judd is Chris Judd. Are we about to miss out on arguably the best footballer the game has ever produced because we're scared to part with someone who has 'potential'?

Posted

1. Aaron Davey to Adelaide for Nathan Bock

2. Brad Miller + 2nd rounder for Cameron Wood

3. Travis Johnstone to Western Bulldogs for a 2nd round pick

Posted

two question occo...

why would WB want TJ when they have stated they want a forward like robbo. and why would we trade TJ for a second round pick?

1. Aaron Davey to Adelaide for Nathan Bock

2. Brad Miller + 2nd rounder for Cameron Wood

3. Travis Johnstone to Western Bulldogs for a 2nd round pick

first 2 are good, but i think you are severely underestimating the value of johnstone, he would get a first round pick without dout

i'd hate to lose davey two put picking up bock would be awesome

Pick 4 + Sylvia (throw in pick 20 if they want)?

Most realistic trade IMO. Most of us would want Sylvia in the team, but I know who I'd rather have. We wouldn't/shouldn't have to throw in pick 20. Maybe a second/third round pick swap.

Hmmm..... CJ to Perth....Miller to Qld......Hell, I did not believe that the draft was a family repatriation system with no focus on actually working out whether CJ or Miller would provide anything to the interstate club.

Brisbane and WCE would have to have rocks in their heads to do that deal. Plain dumb.

Armas is ripping it up in WAFL. Made it big time. A case of right team at the right time. He should send a Xmas card each year to Ashley Sampi saying thank you for imploding your career.

Wheres armstrong this year tho? :P did he even play a game? He was never good enough. CJ is prob in the same boat.

Hopefully Chris Judd nominates us as the club he wants to play for. That way WCE will be forced to deal with us or lose him for nothing.

What if we traded Miller, Robertson and pick 21 to the Bulldogs for pick 5.

We could then offer WCE Chris Johnson and pick 5 for Judd. I think this would be enough, like I said, it is better than losing him for nothing.

Note to Rhino: I am not proposing Chris Johnson simply because he is from WA. WCE want a young developing player. Chris Johnson is young and was highly rated going into the 2003 draft. He is a good size, quick and has good skills. He is the kind of player that, in a good side like WCE would really come along. He is suited to Subiaco as well. We all know that he had confidence problems at Melbourne, Worsfold can turn him around. The fact that his family and friends are in Perth is a side issue, but a bonus.

That means out: Bizzell (retired), Brown (retired), Miller (traded), Neville (delisted), Pickett (retired), Robertson (traded), Ward (delisted)

In: Judd

ND Picks: 4, 37, 53, 69

PSD pick: 3

Promote: Bode

Happy days.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
