Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I was on Villa or draw.

Looked good until he came on. Literally turned the match immediately. His free kick especially was amazing, the crowd started cheering as it left the boot. Special player.

How good would it be if the Dees had a player who could sit on the bench for 3 quarters, come on for 20 minutes, kick 5 goals, win the game singlehandedly, then go back and sit on the pine for the last 5 minutes to rest up for next week!

Leeds knock Man U out of the FA cup in a giant killing display! They are certainly on the up

Awesome but you wonder how seriously ManUre take the F.A Cup these days.

Sad really, when i was a teenager the F.A Cup was the Trophy to win....Wembly just chockers with fans

Shall never forget '79.

Their team was Kuszczak, Neville, Brown, Evans, Da Silva, Gibson, Anderson, Berbatov, Rooney, Obertan, Welbeck with Giggs, Owen and Valencia coming off the bench.

I think they took it seriously, especially at home in front of over 75,000 fans.

Fair call, but i still don't think the "Big 4" take the F.A Cup nearly as seriously as they once did, which is sad-too much money up for grabs in Europe these days.

Leeds have been Rubbish for 5-6 years so you have to wonder about the mental application for the full game from United-Leeds would have been much hungrier.

Yep, I think the "big four" have the league to worry about more and more these days

I went to some Magnificent F.A Cup parties when i was a kid, the sound of Wembley singing was just brilliant.

It's still a great cup, but no longer the Holy Grail, and that makes me very sad.

But it's always a pleasure to see Man U beaten on their own Dump-Bloody Beautiful!

Two massive deflections have saved Arsenal, though I thought Everton's second goal shouldve been offside.

That Denilson is a fair sook not to mention Traore

I won't start a new thread about it, but after the tragic event that took place over the weekend involving the Togo football team's bus, the African Cup of Nations has begun.

Now you'd think that at 4-0 up after 78 minutes you'd be sitting pretty....

Hosts Angola scored twice each side of half time and appeared to be cruising until Mali hit back with FOUR late goals!

Full marks to them, they're playing some brilliant football. Chelsea will be hard to shift but Fabregas would have to be the most influential player in the league at the moment.

Our lack of wins at 'big four' grounds extends to 66

Yes i am quietly Amazed at Arsenal..we do not have 50% of some of these Arab Based Teams Budget. But just Keep Firing. Arsene Venge must be an amazing man to pull those teams together.

The teams who sold out to Arab interests could be in a whole lot of trouble if there is a couple more credit squeezes. I hope they have some sort of Plan B going forward.

I doubt Arsenal will finish Top at seasons end, but at the same time they could do it, even with serious injuries to goal scorers this year we are up there.

Lets Hope The Demons develop the same sort of culture regardless of who plays in the team

Second goal should not have stood, Gallas is a dog, should have been red carded for that horendous tackle and they should have stopped play.

Pray you do not lose Cesc to Barca like the rumour says might happen at seasons end, cos if you do, you will drop out of the top 4 next season.

well the referee waved play on...did you expect Arsenal to stop??..in similar circumstances Bolton, or any other team for that matter would have played on...and Boltons defence after that was ordinary...Fabregas just waltzed his way through..Owen Coyle has toned down his initial outburst and accepts that there was no malice in Gallas' tackle...

There's been rumours about Fabregas for a couple of years now...will he stay/will he go...same as Gerrard at Liverpool...if he goes...he goes...no point having a player at the club who doesn't want to be there

Don't know if Arsenal can sustain the challenge and stay on top...certainly hope they do...

and likewise

GO GUNNERS

Players come and Go every season...Many People told me that Arsenal were stuffed when Thiery left, but they just keep staying up there

Obviously the Club is Run very Well-That's my main point.

Stynesy should give Arsenne Venge a call, get a few Tips.

Next fortnight will decide our fate! Any idea when Van Persie is due back? Get him fit, keep Cesc on the park and we are a massive chance this year!

Agree if we lose Cesc, we`ll struggle. Many of our wins would have been draws, even losses without this bloke this year. How he is not a walk up start in the Spanish side is beyond me!

Agree, I'd have him in the Spanish team as a starting player.

Well the game should have been stopped so he could have carded Gallas, but for once Alex ferguson was right, he is not fit to ref a EPL game, he was terrible.

Not saying we would have won that game, but how you can let a tackle like that go is beyond me, if that had of been Kevin Davies then I'll bet a million bucks he would have been carded!

Malice or not, it was a terrible tackle and should have been dealt with by an inept ref.

Agree, our defence this year has been woeful, and in both games we failed to deal with Cesc and I truly believe, especially in the first game that without him we would have got a point at home (that and Taylors inability to score from 2 million attempts)

Well the draw for the next round of the FA cup is out.

Southampton v Portsmouth

Reading v West Bromwich Albion

Fulham v Notts County or Wigan Athletic

Chelsea v Cardiff City

Bolton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspur or Leeds United

Derby County v Birmingham City

Manchester City v Stoke City

Wolverhampton Wanderers or Crystal Palace v Aston Villa

I hope Leeds get up as we would have a better chance against them than Spurs, even tho our home record against spurs is pretty good.

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you his observations from this morning's Captain's Run including some hints at the changes for our ANZAC Eve clash against the Tigers. There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
