Understand why we'd look to move him on if there's any takers. Surely a club in contention like the Bulldogs would want him for 1-2 years. Their poor KP stocks have arguably cost them a serious tilt at a flag again this year. They'd be mad not to bring May in IMO. There's other clubs like North that would be desperate for him too. Doubt we'll get anything more than a 3rd round pick, but it's about building for future not.

Our tall defender stocks for next season will look like Turner, Lever, Petty, Howes, Adams, Derksen. Pretty well stocked in that area.

Yeh sure, a so called professional football club that doesn’t adhere to contractual law, hopefully the player getting screwed gets lawyered up.

The rich members hanging around the track car park can now pay off Brayshaw, Goody and May.

Apparently the Bulldogs aren't interested.

Does the contractual obligations extend to the player as well? Like being involved in fights in the off-season, dust ups in-season?

That's a shock if true. He'd put them immediately into flag contention IMO despite not being the incredible player he once was. All they need is a competent gorilla stopper, no need for intercept or rebound. Baffling they wouldn't chase him when he'd be low cost in both salary and trade required given his age.

Well done on calling it early. Will be good for the club.

Yep, great move for a host of reasons already discussed!

They're looking at other defenders, Jordon Butts and Tylar Young.

I think you'll find the club is sticking to contractual law. I suspect all they've done is tell May to expect that he'll be playing his final year of this contract with us at Casey and if he would prefer to continue playing senior football, he should explore opportunities with another club. There's no non-adherence to contract law - in fact, we're being respectful and giving him a chance to prolong his senior career.

Some clubs might tolerate May's cultural pitfalls - the Dogs don't strike me as one. Particularly given their recent experience with JUH. His form hasn't been strong enough to justify upsetting the apple cart is my read on it.

We'll might get a second rounder

For May?

On what planet?

We've told him to seek a trade, so other clubs have all the bargaining power because they know we want him out.

And Charley Curnow will be happy with this news. Maysey towelled him up on a regular basis

May to Carlton, Curnow to GC, would look forward to that match up when they meet. May could become an instant cult figure at Princes Park 😁

I hope the media don't go down the may/gawn path & talk about any tension. It would be something morris would investigate & something McClure would talk about

Who cares what they say. Just ignore them.

In 2020 May had 10 goals kicked on him during the H & A season yet was overlooked for AA selection for Harris Andrews. For the years that followed he was the no.1 defender in the game, he always preferred the intercept mark opposed to the easy spoil Darcy Moore style.

Maysie was a gun!

I find this odd. Yes, there were signs his body was letting him down this season- the odd outburst now and then was a tell tale of a man frustrated with his ability to play. The stats on him were also damning. His fall from grace was very quick but he will be 34 next year so i suppose in that context he still managed to play a lot of footy.

Do you keep this bloke on your list as a mentor? play him in the VFL side ? he is probably a little too proud for that unfortunately and also hard to tell given his standing among his team mates with what we have seen in the past.

But with all that knock him, he was a competitor, hard at it. Its a pity he didnt get a send off game, but i suspect this has our King's fingerprints on it.

With every move we make, it feels like we are more and more going into a full list rebuild. If we also let Trac go (which i would support) that would be the final nail.

I am quite surprised at the number of player moves we are making consider the coach does not have his feet under the table.

Absolute rubbish as usual, contracted player, up to the club to find a new home, not the player…..

think you are misreading what the club has said, they have said if he wants to play senior footy to find another club as they cant guarantee him senior games next year

People can multitask.

Just like how Guerra has been involved at the club and doing work behind the scenes for a while now.

King has a more realistic view of our list than we do - by some margin I'd suggest. It's been part of his full time job for 15 years.

I think you could take it as a given that nothing would be going on without his knowledge and input.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
