Agree with this.

Unfortunately the "unofficial" announcement didn't draw any takers a few weeks back but with the right salary subsidy we might get some interest.

Bulldogs would be mad not to take him at the right price.

Amazing how quickly he lost touch

Any one of Norf, Bulldogs and it might surprise you the filth will be interested.

Hunter 'retired' vs 'delisted' is semantics to manage the optics and save face for Hunter.

I don't think May will be delisted either; I was simply answering the question about whether it is possible.

Yes it was optics, but the differences was that Hunter had no suitors and did actually retire.

Hence we never announced publicly that he’s been told to go elsewhere.

We wouldn’t be doing this public announcement via the media if we didn’t think May had somewhere to go

Tick

Well done on calling it early. Will be good for the club.

Absolute rubbish as usual, contracted player, up to the club to find a new home, not the player…..

Despite his obvious drop in form I do have a slight concern that we don’t have any other big bodied defenders. Turner and McDonald can hold their own but I don’t back Lever, Howes or Adams (yet) to win 1v1’s consistently - Derksen, if we do land him is an unknown. Although big bodied forwards aren’t as prominent as they once were it’s still something our recruiters should be cognisant of imo.

I’d also prefer to see Howes play up the ground and move Petty back anyway so maybe I raise a moot point..

Agreed,

Was worth it for the flag, it's been downhill since then. Melksham, Gawn etc

thanks for the flag

but his behaviour has stunk for some time

Thanks Steve glad I high five you at last training session Hope you find new club to see out contract Thanks for your major part in premiership Love ya always

Perhaps a farewell dinner at Entrecote ??

It’s a shame that we won’t get a chance to give him a send off. More likely that he’ll start an in game fight with us next year and become the villain!

Will always love him though.

I thought he had a very up and down year. Some games he seemed like the May that was so important in 2021, others times he seemed totally out of sync with the game. Whether it was who he was playing with (very few games with Lever this season), carrying an injury, lack of full engagement/concentration, whatever, but something was off.

I think in the right environment at a new club he still has a couple of strong seasons in him and I think he's worth a late 2nd round, early 3rd round pick. North especially seems to be crying out for a strong defender.

Look he was phenomenal for us when we got him , 21 was huge but this season was terrible for him & he became to undisciplined.

Maybe king has better ideas for our backline.

Put turner has turned into a pretty handy defender.

At least we'll know where the balls going to go when he kicks out from defence when we play against him. We'll just go straight to the opposition ruckman

May was outstanding from 2020 - 2023, and I'm very glad he played in 100 games and a premiership for the club.

He is definitely not the future and we need to get games into our next 8-10 year defenders, so this is the right call.

wtf

Hard to replace. Petty plays down back.

Not the most popular player with his team mates.

But thankyou and good luck.

His service got us a flag. The reality is we need to upskill the next gen. So his opportunities like Tmac was told would be less. So finishing off T another club will give him more game time, which is what he would want

Cant be surprised, was a road cone on defence in 2025

He’s easily the best full back I’ve seen play for the club. Time caught up with him this year as it does with everyone.

Outstanding contribution to this club over the journey. He’ll be fondly remembered as a premiership hero.

Best of luck Maysey

Another tick for our amazing list management team gifting him an extra year last year when his head was turned by Carlton. Bet we end up paying a chunk of his contract now.

He has his fair share of blame spilling marks whenever he has to sit under one and lax defensive transition. Glad to move on from that.

But I’ll actually miss him barking orders, especially when he was the only one mad enough to have a dip at the captain.

So we are starting to see what the King and Guerra blueprint is. Get rid of the NQR's and disruptors. Now remains to be seen what Petracca decides to do. King wants him, does he want us? Liking this.

And Charley Curnow will be happy with this news. Maysey towelled him up on a regular basis

We've certainly got the best years of his career. Loved his efforts, passion and relentless desire to win. I do fear the years are catching up. Wish him well where ever.

Thanks for the Flag mate. Always a🏆❤️💙 Dee.

I sense he can be a little polarising. I have empathy for that !! 🤔😆😆

As a club we appear to have pulled the trigger on turning a corner. Much change in the winds. Will we pull the Lever too ? 🤔

As oft quoted... "there comes a time"

Cheers Steve , go well.

Thanks for everything Maysie. Was a great pick up, helped set standards and a massive part of our flag success.

I’m shocked not because I think it’s the wrong decision but because it shows a ruthless streak we have been lacking recently.

I wonder does it mean we have another tall lined up other than Derksen?!

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
