We’ve won 6 games, reality is if we had someone who could get the best out of his players for 4 quarters every week we would have won 12.

We played a team Saturday night who have been absolute [censored] for months but they come up against us, and we were favourites, guess who wins, even though we had 80 more disposals.

Something must be done, Goodwin has been there 10 years next year but we’re rubbish, Yze is coaching Richmond with really young rebuilding team, they have won 5 games, we had him, he bleeds red & blue, he should be coaching us. When we won the flag he was at Melbourne. I was having coffee with a friend in Hampton st Hampton and Russell Robertson & Nathan Brown were next to us, l started talking to them, it was when Yze had come back to Melbourne, all they could talk about was getting rid of Goodwin and getting their mate Adem Yze as coach, unfortunately we’ve lost him.

We are now stuck with a losing coach, and we STILL haven’t got a home base, what happened to Caulfield, I’m 60 years old, bleed red and blue and we have NEVER HAD A HOME BASE in my life!

I mentioned this back at the end of 2023. A succession plan should've been put in place to have Yze as the HC next year.

Yikes.

It must be hard knowing that all three coaches of the bottom teams on the ladder have at some point been Demons, and we let them all slip through our fingers!

/mergethread although I'm not sure that should be with the 'Simon Goodwin is the cacadaemon' thread or the 'Melbourne, you suck so much only I will ever love you, so you better do as I say' thread.

Interesting that a couple of ex players were allegedly happy to [censored]-talk their club's coach to strangers. Player alumni white-anting the leadership is a famous way for clubs to rip themselves apart. If Robertson and Brown want to reflect on unreliable performances of a team which could have done much better, they're welcome to reflect on their own decade.

Anyway, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe the conversation is being recalled in a somewhat slanted way.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
