Couldn't get there tonight, and am glad I couldn't.

What a load of cra@p.

What are they doing???

IF the coach cannot inspire and guide the team to win this one he is useless.

Could we be doing worse with Newton on the ground??

Predictably conservative selection.

Very conservative selection.

I don't care how well Holland played last week. There is NO matchup for him. Listening to the radio and it sounds like Richo is playing all over him. Should have been dropped.

No Whelan. We could use some steadiness in defence.

36 points. Unbelievable. "richmond is killing melbourne" "hard to see a winner for melbourne" ABC radio.

What a joke.

We seem to be looking a little slow and stagnent coming through the midfield.......

Try 60+ points :o !!!

They seem to just want it a hell of a lot more than we do.......

They have been much harder at it both in the air and on the ground, tougher in defence, fantastic tackling, much quicker around the ground,

and the Tiges are opening it up in attack like a hot knife through butter.

This could prove to be very embarrassing if we can't get our stuff together...... and quick!!!

OH MY GOD

This scoreline would be terrible against west coast in perth, let alone against a team winless over 11 rounds.

I'm not usually one to call for heads but ND is gone. Yes, it is the players out there playing hopelessly but if he can't motivate them to at least put up a fight, he is gone.

What are our senior players doing? Bruce, Green, White, Robbo, Yze

For senior players who are 1000% behind Daniher staying, they are sure doing their best to make sure he goes with this display of nonchalant inspidity.

ND is gone after this one

Well, I'll probably feel different tomorrow, but here's my half-time knee jerk:

This is the straw that broke the camel's back. The pundits have ummed and ahhed over Daniher's future for a long time now, but after tonight all doubt has been eradicated. No coach can be so comprehensively out-smarted as Neil has been tonight, and hope to keep his job for next year.

What the? Well, this just about does it.

After the last couple of games on the up, then to put in an effort like this is simply too much to swallow. Either ND goes or half the membership will. Central command had better give us something to look forward to next season or we will be decimated.

How can we be roosters one day and feather dusters the next? WE are so difficult to follow!!

How could the club say anything other than this is not acceptable. ND you must go now as you are payed a lot of money to guide this club to reasonable performances and 2 wins is absolutely not "reasonable performances". For all the losers that say we should not criticise the club I say enjoy your boring, pathetic lives cause this club will not give you any positive feelings of success in its present form. This is the bottom team we are playing and how much worse are we than them? It is embarrassing to watch this crap Neal Daniher! The club is in danger of losing a huge chunk of its membership and corporate support and must make some changes. To the players, even David Schwartz is embarassed , but at least he tried even if he did only have one good leg.

To quote Derrin Hinch : " Shame, Shame, Shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Shame - coach

Shame - so clalled leaders

Shame - posers.

They have lost me.

IF ND is appointed senior coach for 2008, I will NOT renew membership and will take up golf, or croquet, or tiddly winks.

Couldn't agree more regarding ND. Think you're being harsh regarding our senior player - at least Robbo and Yze seem to be having a go on the unbelievably rare rimes it gets in our forward 100. Not a typo, I don't think its been in our forward 50 more than half a dozen times tonight.

To be fair, appear to be 18-19 passengers tonight. That said, when you're smashed by a team that has drawn one and lost 10 our of 11, you can't be playing well.

Commentary team of Schwarz, Cometti and McAvaney bagging Melbourne. It hurts when I have to agree with them.

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
