LETTER FROM BRAD GREEN TO MEMBERS 24 OCT

Recommended Posts

I was quite pleased with interim President Brad Green's email statement.

He has definitely been extremely busy.

Hopefully, he has been able to meet with both Peter Lawrence and Geoff Freeman to reconcile any past differences.

It will be interesting to see who nominates to be candidates to join the Melbourne Football Club Board in a few weeks time.

Both.!!

I find both terms very derogatory however, sycophant is the most repugnant it is the sort of word that I would use to describe Goebbells, Goring Bormann, and Himmler- Extremists.

I prefer the terms Glass half full / Half empty, positive, negative, supportive, white anters, after all we do support the same team.

You really are obsessed.
i have no problem with the Board endorsing candidates before elections.
Why? Plainly because I don’t know who the candidates are. I am Voting blind.
An endorsed candidate is someone the board can work with.
If the board is dysfunctional and the club is not winning games, and not being represented well in September, they will be voted out

Ever asked why you are voting blind? Ever met these Board members sliding in on 30 September? Do they barrack for Melbourne? Candidates can't campaign?  Working out well for us - we'll probably have our fourth President in four years by this time next year.....loving that unity and stability. Voting blind indeed.

Mmmm, when it was announced, it was just an "independent, external expert" - now we allowed to know who it is. Gee I hope she's good.

Am i supposed to know everybody inside the Club?

Should i expect to meet every person who is involved in the MFC?

No it is not possible, i must trust the Club to attract the right people at both Board and Football Department level.

Why should we trust you and your agenda above the club?

Lawrence has cost the Club $500,000 + thus far, that is a number of jobs within the football department in my opinion, which i take a dim view of, when the club is still adjusting after Covid & Lockdown

Think I might ask Royce who is causing that instability.

Equally you can argue that the Board's intransigence has cost the Club $500,000+.

I cannot recall Lawrence ever asking the Club to do anything that was unreasonable.

Good on you Cranky like $500,000 is a drop in the bucket, particularly after the club adopted a number of His proposals, to my mind it was counter intuitive with a bit of spite thrown in. But each to their own.

Once it reached Court Level, Lawrence should have backed off…

Maybe this was attempted and Lawrence dug his heels in….

If they attempted, and to which the Club conceded  in court eventually, then they would’t have had to appear in court….but they did!

Correct, but it should never have gone to Court, were the amendments worth Half a Mill?

why was the onus on Lawrence to back off. Why didn't the club just make the amendments. The blame for the costs incurred lie solely at the feet of the club

The letter...nice of the President to fill us in.

Although most of the information is already out there.

I guess we're all waiting to see what the 2 reports bring, although I don't expect we will really see/hear much of it.

Maybe some future actions will point back to it.

Sam Edmund (the good Sam) hinted at a big change on the radio yesterday but wanted to keep his powder dry for now.

It won't be the coach for all those interested.

I am not letting the Board off the Hook at all, the whole ordeal is a disgrace.
I am merely saying that a few amendments to a Football Club constitution were not worth half a $mill, when that money could have been spent on getting better results on the field.
Lawrence fed his ego and nothing more

You might all remember that the club did make a lot of amendments during the course of the proceedings but as far as I understand, Lawrence wouldn't back off on his last demand, which he lost on. Which was all about airing dirty linen in public and feeding the media frenzy. So why is it all the club's fault?

The facts are the Club submitted the new election rules only when before the Court in April. After two days of the hearing, in May, the judge adjourned the case to allow the MFC Board to make yet another amendment to remove a rule which was contrary to the Corporations Act. Most of the costs were incurred by then. So when exactly was Lawrence supposed to back off?

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
