Misty feel about the morning.

Suggest Hunter the sub. Woey was doing plenty of plays.

Do they make the designated sub sit on the sidelines for three quarters of the captain's run?

Oh if only you had been around when I was going to training and was 17 and too shy to talk to the players.  I spent hours not talking to Sean Wight whilst sitting on the picket fence at the G with him after he did his knee (wish I'd talked to him, he always waved to me if he saw me thereafter, think he remains my favourite ever player, even more than Robbie).  Then we moved to the Junction Oval from the G and that was the pits.  Russell Richards and the Febey twins would give me a lift up to the city since they were driving to Seymour and the walk back to St Kilda station was unpleasant.

These days I've got the guts go to talk to people, cos they are people, but I'm also old and married.  And in another country, which makes going to training difficult.

Me too thirty one. We could have been friends!

Pro tip: if you need to get creases out and ya lazy, hang your stuff up in the bathroom while you shower. The steam will loosen the creases.
If you don’t shower tho I can’t help you.

Have the leaves finished falling yet at GP?

Many thanks

PS Out of interest does the oval suffer from dog droppings or is someone on pre training pooper scooper duty

The leaves dropped early this month. A few, which can build with a wind and surface on the fence are still around.

The dog owners are really good in this area.

There is no designated duty, though trainers set up and measure distances, gives them plenty of scope to find issues.

The surface of Gosch's is lush, a few caps to the irrigation system are covered by a heavy soil.

The goal line turf had a recent refurbish.

Here’s my comment about training…they trained.

That’s pretty much all I’ve got because I saw Kev there and asked him to do a training report. 😁

I did watch a loooong session of some of the boys taking shots at goal. Two words: Chin Chandler. Nailing shots from the boundary on ridiculous angles, a joy to behold. You don’t need to watch Chin kicking for goal because as soon as it leaves his boot he knows if it’s going through in which case he’s silent. But if it’s not going through be lets loose with a very loud “OH [censored]!!!” 😂

Which probably means wont be able to hit the side of a barn today🤪

    FEARS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne’s worst fears about the absence of Max Gawn were realised when it received a shellacking from Fremantle’s ruckmen Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson who dominated the hit out tally in their game at Optus Stadium on Sunday by a massive 47 to 19. As a result, the 50-point deficit at the end of the game proved to be a loss that was long foreseen that was two years in the making and demonstrated a complete lack of hindsight and planning from the club. To add insult to injury, Jackson was a D

    RAIN CHECK by Whispering Jack

The Frankston Dolphins broke a run of six straight losses against their neighbours, the Casey Demons and kept their hopes for a long-awaited return to the VFL finals alive with a 27 point victory over at Kinetic Stadium. Casey was welcomed to the Peninsula by grey skies, heavy rain and angry seas with threatening white-capped waves whipped up by gale force winds. DEMONLAND - Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland 2024 Grand Final Podcast ... before we took that last phone call from a Demonlander, we were discussing how the club overcame it’s midseason slump, the season-ending injury to Christian Petracca and the loss for a brief period of skipper Max Gawn due to a  crack to the base of his right fibula, to slowly surge up the ladder turning our detractors into believers and how it ended the year triumphant in the finals with our capta

EARLY BIRDS by KC from Casey

Wet, slippery conditions and threatening rainfalls greeted the VFL Bombers at the end of their long journey southeast of the big city on Sunday. The threatening weather combined with the fact that neither side had realistic prospects of advancing to action in September, meant that spectators gathered at a cold Casey Fields weren’t expecting a classic exhibition of football. Nor did they get one. Instead they were presented with a dour struggle that never reached great heights. It was a
