Jon Anderson put 3 SOO teams in the HUN today for Vic, SA, WA

Victorian team:

B: wirrapanda, scarlett, gilbee

HB: hodge, goodes, heath shaw

C: dal santo, bartel, lappin (played very few games this season)

HF: o'keefe, brown, brad johnson

F: GAJ, fevola, hall

R: fraser, judd, brent harvey

I: lucas, luke power, RYAN MURPHY, rob harvey

Ryan Murphy has played 1 game for the season for no impact, yet a guy like Cameron Bruce cant get into the team. Ridiculous if you ask me.

I know we're 0-7 but this sort of [censored] just riles me. we can be 7-0 and not respected.

FWIW there are no dees in any team and you could argue that case quite well but if muppets like murphy and farmer (yeah that's right the guy who is too busy assaulting people and probably wont play more than 8 games this season and hasn't played yet is in the WA team) are getting games i just wonder.

MURPHY?!??!?! WHHAAAATTT?

for those who might wish to argue, even freo fans that might be crusing past, he's had 4 possessions in 2007!!

Possible misprint. Probably meant to be Robert Murphy.

You'd have to assume he meant Robert Murphy.

Pathetic journalism regardless.

I know. I hate being a dees supporter and never having our team get anywhere NEAR the recognition it deserves. In the Hun votes for every match(1-5), if we win, we get about 3 players in there, and rarely get the BOG. If we go ok, but lose by a small margin we get NO-ONE in the top 5, and if we THRASH the other team, having the top 10 players on the ground, they STILL find room for an opposition player.... In fact, we have to win by over 100 points to be assured of all the votes from 5-1.

But in this case, classy, I don't think we really can complain. Apart from that side being generally ridiculous, we don't have a SOO player in the current MFC side, going on our first 7 rounds.

Usually I botch and moan, but in this case, I'd rather we find a few victories before spruiking the club. Not even Bruce. who's probably up there in our B&F is ANYWHERE NEAR selection in a state side...

But in any case, Kudos for fighting the good fight.

Just regarding Dees coverage in the media, I thought we got a fair bit of coverage last year actually. I remember pieces on guys like Holland and Carroll as well as our bigger names.

DD,

We had three in the Herald Sun best after the loss to the bulldogs.

Davey was awarded 5 votes, I think Trapper 4 and White 2. Not bad considering we lost.

That is an awesome and hilarious piece of journalism. I will be quitting my job first thing Monday morning and heading off to the Herald-Sun asking for a job in a newly-vacated sports writer's position.

Should have mentioned that was the FIRST time I remember seeing us get some luck in that regard. And I think while Aaron deserved his go, they were very generous.

Interestingly, he was given 5 votes by BOTH coaches in the footy classified coaches votes in player of the year, along with Colin and one other I think.

sorry what does SOO stand for?

State of Origin, I would imagine :)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
