Posters can posters what they want as long as it doesn’t breach any site policies or standards.

We have the full spectrum of posters on DL from the overly optimistic to the overly pessimistic. Most are worth reading and have valid perspectives.

There are a couple that only bob up after a loss. Always with the I told you so’s. I just ignore them.

We’ll beat Carlton next Friday because they’re woeful, but the pies will give us a touch up. They’ll put 30-50 points on us based on current form. That’ll be 8-5 at the bye. Middle of the road mediocrity. That’s a bottom of the 8 trajectory which is in all honesty is our level because we’re playing like a bottom of the 8 team and have been for a while. I don’t know where the spark or inspiration is coming from to elevate us again.

I disagree they are a good side on the following basis.

The only top eight team they have beaten is us.

All their other wins were against sides below them and outside the top 8. 

Now at number 8 via points, their % is well below the next 2 teams at 9 and 10.

By good, if you mean they beat us, then therein lies the rub.

You legitimately said you think supporters enjoy a loss purely so they can come on here and have a crack. That's plain wrong and I'll continue to call you out on your [censored]. No supporter enjoys a loss.

Watched the replay this and nothing completely changes my argument whatsoever. In fact all it does is back up every single main point I made.

5. Our depth is shallow or untested. Tomlinson, Schache, Smith, Dunstan, Melksham, BBB can sometimes do a job but fluctuate in impact. The untested Howes, Laurie, Woey jnr, etc. have not been or have hardly been given the opportunity.

Delete the word 'shallow' and I would agree!

6. We have small forwards that are no longer impacting the scoreboard.

They have all been impacting the scoreboard on most occasions, just not kicking bags

It might be the game plan. Might be something else but this is not a 'champion' team.

Name the Champion Team from 2021, 2022 & 2023... Can you be a Champion Team then not be a Champion Team?

It’s actually a good read when posters stick to just analysing a loss with facts or valid reasons for a poor performance. 
The two things that are just plain wrong are:

1. The posters that only come here after a form slump/loss and give us their usual negative bulldust. Nowhere to be seen when the team is going well. 

2. The name calling of players after a loss. Such as the Brayshaw overweight plodder comments from last week. That is simply not on imo.

I'm utterly confused why we haven't rectified this over the off season when it was a glaring issue for our forward connection.

Understand your op, but there is a wide range of ages, personalities and character types on here, who will react differently to different situations.

We are rarely that good or that bad.

Footy fan forums exist to voice opinions, which will vary in the extreme.

Personally, I haven’t given up, far from it, but that doesn’t mean I can’t post on what I see happening from week to week, same as many others.

We have areas to work on and fans have every right to discuss those, without personal abuse of course. 

Andy would be furious if no one posted and DL would be very shallow if it just reported team changes.

That last bit made me laugh Dazzle because I know you were trying to stir me up, but it’s also true. It’s why I keep coming back here, even if I have to wade through a lot of emotional negativity just to get to see how others see the game.

Tis the season for anomalous results. One only need to look at yesterday's results for evidence.

Four top 8 sides rolled by teams outside the 8.

Including the cats at a ground they have a 90%, or some such wininning record.

We have injuries that have robbed us of important players. We have a game plan that has been worked out by all teams and the better sides can now beat it. A number of our team are sadly out of form and last our tall forwards are simply not up to the task required to win games against good sides. We can all hope things can turn around but the reality suggests otherwise.

How’s the rose coloured glasses going? We were terrible against an average opponent on our home deck & not much better in Port without their two best forwards out.

Our forward line is a shambles, Tmac has been a great servant of the club but his best days are years behind him & our 4 small forwards are way out of form.

We had a great wing combination in 2021 with Langdon & Brayshaw, so what does Goodwin do, bring in a 29yo reject from the Dogs, Langdon falls off the cliff & Brayshaw has to play anywhere there’s a vacant spot.

We now have 2 Wingers that run around like headless chooks & are afraid to tackle

Gawn & Grundy are a work in progress that’s really struggling connecting with our midfield (but hopefully will be ok)

The backline is still solid but not getting the help from up the ground that we were known for.

Geelong had 10 players out & still nearly find a way to win, we have Oliver & Petty out & are falling apart
