Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Oh dear! we lose two games against good teams by a kick and the reaction of gloom and doom by some of our regular contributors including Joe Boy is so predictable.

Win, we are the best. Lose. we are rabble and all is lost this year. Honestly, what mindset do they have? 7-4 and a great percentage and they complain.

What do you think Geelong supporters are feeling right now?  Do you think they have thrown in the towel? Sensible non Geelong supporters would never write them off as premiers 2023, me included. We will still give this flag a shake.

You're right, but I think what we're all sensing and feeling is further success slipping away. There is immense, palpable disappointment in the air that isn't far off despair.

The losses are one thing; the missed tackles, lack of appetite, shirked efforts, finger pointing, lack of enjoyment and utterly destroyed chemistry/cohesion is another thing entirely. I think this is what has people so upset.

I love it.

Watching other people going into complete toys-out-of-the-cot tantrum mode reminds me to let it go.

It is so distasteful it adds an intuitive repulsion to the rational choice to remain calm.

My only concern is that with that waft of hysterical farting around, sensible points might be overlooked.

I was just about to start a similar thread. Well done @Bobby McKenzie.

I read all the posts on the post match board but have to sift through a lot of hysterical neurotica to find the gold nuggets - that's for sure.

What will actually happen when we play a good side is a real concern.

Freo have got their game in shape since that loss. Do you watch the games at all or just look at the results and post trash?!

Lose the next two and wait for the rage.  That will be 4 losses on the trot.  Goody has work to do and frankly some in the team are well below their best.  The competition is tight except for midas touch Mcrae, so Goodwin and his coaches and Richardson need to get this team humming.

Even if we win these days I’d say it’s only 60-70% positive, the carry on after the Suns game was pretty embarrassing. Today’s performance was pretty bad though.

People should ease off the postgame thread venting. If it entertains you then I'm glad because at least you're getting something out of today. I'm not gonna apologise for ranting a bit in what should be a safe haven. You're not losing time or money over it.

Fans see us backsliding. Fans were led to believe that we will challenge for another another flag. So far our results have been mixed, playing well below our best and not matching it with stronger clubs. Many fans will vituperate accordingly.

I agree but I'm not sure we need to vituperate in order to vent

It's one thing when analysing to say that it was not Harmes best day, a completely different thing to make him a whipping boy

(Not saying you've said anything along those lines, more a general observation re Demonland post game thread today)

I appreciate the thread from Bobby but I find the people who sit back and wait to attack the people who show frustration on here quite obnoxious. It's like they're secretly hoping for us to lose so DL goes into meltdown and they can gaslight posters who actually  care about the game and this club, making themselves look really high and mighty in the process.

It's frankly pathetic, we might care and say things we don't 100% mean in the moment but we aren't stupid and idiotic maniacs and you aren't better than us.

Are you serious? the season is gone, the team is dispirited, there's no plan b. There is something seriously wrong with the team, the forward line is dysfunctional,  kicking skills are poor and we are stagnant, no one is running. Collingwood will have a 100 point win against us

Our problems have been evident for the last 23 games yet nothing changes. Rants are justified. Our talent is obvious but our gameplan is stale and outdated. Too late making changes when the game is lost.

It’s funny you say that Layz. As a more optimistic supporter I feel like a lot of fans on here love a loss - so they can have a real crack at the club. We all bring our own biases I guess. In the end we all just want success.

Madness. We have a top 3 list talent wise but aren’t playing anywhere close. Collingwood are sitting back laughing at everyone else, their opponents are rattled by quick ball movement. Opportunities favour the brave.

We all get disappointed after a loss. Footy is an emotional game and that is why we all love it.

7-4. Need to work on a few things. Could look at a few structural moves.

My concern is we have seemed to have moved away from kick mark game which looked good early in the year. We kicked to contests a lot today.

Well that too no doubting it. Like a bad relationship they miss the arguments.

I'm not throwing the season away and we can get it back on track but I wasn't happy with today and think there's a few too many premiership players with VFL level performances. I think it's natural to hold the team to a slightly higher level because we know they can do it.

Personally I think I'm generally optimistic. I've called things how I see them with us, it's not always nice and I will do it again in future but I'm not going to be unrealistic and berate our  players like the women behind me at the game do every week.

Everyone is different and I hope we can all get along.

Im a relatively positive person but unfortunately today didn't feel me with any sort of warmth or positivity.

We have a multitude of issues that we are getting exposed on from personnel, stoppages, clearance, forward 50 entries, dysfunctional forward line etc.

We have the same problems as last year unfortunately.

Lose to Carlton friday night and this joint were burn to the ground.

This is such a [censored] take. I’m sorry but nobody here wants to see us lose. You only needed to be here post flag to see how invested and happy everyone was.

I hate this notion that you shouldn’t vent or be upset post loss. Nothing is ever as good or as bad as it seems, but ffs if supporters want to be upset and have a crack, who cares?

As long as nobody is being personal or nasty or rude, why can’t supporters be reactionary? Why can you make big calls post win but not post loss?
And why are Melbourne supporters so scared to call out issues? It’s like you’re not a real fan if you aren’t happy with every single thing the club does.

Anyone who pays their membership and has sat through two decades of rubbish served prior to 2021, has every right to be as upset as they want post game, so long as they continue to support the club in both good times and bad.

And by the way, nobody at Demonland is forcing anyone to read anything. If people don’t like to read posts after a loss, why come online then? Venting about others venting is equally as ridiculous.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
