Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It’s so out of the blue that I gotta wonder if he jumped or was pushed? Something tells me there’s a fair bit more to this story than meets the eye.

Hmm, I wonder if Mrs Hardwick had anything to do with this ...   😉

Wouldn't surprise if he is Tassies inaugural coach.

I think it was Caro a month back saying he would be a likely replacement for Dew at the Suns, who she still seems adamant will lose his job at the end of the year 🤷‍♀️

Wouldn't surprise me if the AFL has already stamped his cards and is telling Hardwick to reset and take a break for 5 months before returning, if he wants the job.

I’ll go with burnout, one day you feel fine, wake up the next morning and you’re done.

Surely his last 2/3 years (  coincidentally after his split with MrsH which was ironic after all) he has never been the same.
The Tigers have after 4 years of supreme footy are past their best and all those close games shows he had lost his aura as well.

Dimma  does not take losing kindly and has shown his true colours over the last 50 plus games with an  occasional resort to street fighting language " let him say that to my face ". Not what coaching is about or great for the second best coach in the 2000's to be remonstrating.

That  of course  is part of the package as a player when in trouble resort to your street habits under pressure.

He possibly feels his message may well not be reaching  the players allied with the record of 11 out of 13 plus a draw as well under 6 point  losses it's the right time.

Yes he may  be back but the intensity today he possesses might also see him out of the limelight for a season or two at least.

Some will welcome this others wil miss his occasional headline grabbing statements or actions.

One thing is his record of 3 flags puts him right at the top of the Tigers  greatest and a huge performer in the modern era only surpassed by Clarko with 4 flags and level with Chris Scott whose sustained excellence and 2 flags from 3 GF over the same period place them as equals in my estimation.

So hang on he hasn't told the players yet but Tom Morris announced it.

Who leaked the info to him.

I'm guessing there are some phone calls going on tonight

You'd reckon Hardwick would be absolutely filthy this got out.  He didn't want his players to find out this way and to have someone close to him run to Tom Morris of all people, must be particularly galling.

Hardwick won’t miss anyone on the way out.
Let’s hope he whacks the AFL, the state of the game, the MRO, the stupidity of 4 field umps, the score review system fiasco, the treatment of coaches, the dogs in the media, the dogs not in the media, the State government, the Federal government, cops who taser old ladies and throws a bit of climate change hysteria in for good measure.

This is the guy that held back a teenager so his teammate Wallis could punch him. Yup real warrior. What a fighter. Tough as nails.  Dont let the door hit you on the way out, im sure the team and everyone that depends on you will be fine despite you dont want to honour a contract that pays you exactly what you signed up for.  Sorry, not sorry.

Hahaha - I'm the same, always hated him as a player, the king of snipers, so his coaching achievements have always been grudgingly admired.  His late 90s Kath & Kim haircut always gave me a laugh though.

Why would he do that; as it would be very likely he will be coaching again.

He hasn’t walked away from 1.5 years pay, without another job.

Just as an aside, he met my wife, daughter and grand daughter at a cafe and when they approached him, he couldn’t have been nicer to them, even when they said they were Dees fans.

Chris Judd on the other hand, couldn’t have been ruder to my son, who incidentally played in the same junior competition 1 year ahead when they were in a store together.

I see the Aussie tall poppy syndrome is in full swing.

What a fantastic coach and what a wonderful legacy he will leave at Richmond. It is never as simple as one man but he was front and centre of the Tigers success along with our very own Craig Cameron amongst others.

The teams we hate are pivotal to our game and without them footy wouldn’t be what it is. Hardwick added spice and interest to our game. He also reshaped it when he won his first flag with a game plan many in the competition followed.

His pressers were great viewing as he put the journo’s in their place and he often said what needed to be said. And like Ian Chappell he’s going out on his own term, at least for now.

Well done Dimma, some footy fans may rejoice at todays news but the footy world will recognise and appreciate what you have achieved and I only hope Goodwin can do the same.

People can say anything nowadays and not have any long term consequences.
He’s salty about something. Whether it’s disclosed in today’s press conference remains to be seen.

Great work by the media to not have the audio set up so we can hear the questions being asked. 🤦🏻

How can the AFL and the media not get this right?  Every post-game press conference has the same issue, year after year - but to not even get it together for a press conference of this magnitude beggars belief.

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
