Really surprised Blake Drury was overlooked.

Agree Dazzle. Although short he is strongly built, clean with the ball and makes good decisions. He is also a quality leader that is a highly competitive type. Played as a mid that went forward for Caulfield Grammar. The one that’s got me surprised though is  another Caulfield boy inMitch Szybkowski. I thought we may have a nibble as he trained with us and is a very Melbourne type player and did some training with us pre season. For rookies a developing ruck but we have lost a bit of foot speed over the trade period so if we can find someone that will provide a bit of outside run with x factor then I think we will have a balanced list.

Calling @ManDee - any local knowledge you can provide re this young man?

Sorry, no info. Didn't get to any footy this year too busy. GVFL is a good standard as is APS. He looks interesting, I like the Jakovich comparison, we should be so lucky!

Talent and needs fulfilled.  Certainly put in place the succession planning across ruck, key forward and key defence with youngsters Verrell, Jefferson and Adams.  I think Sestan was just that wildcard who was too good to pass up.  Raw ability and different pathway than the standard NAB League.  Like to see more Mids with pace next year in the draft with our picks.  Two 1st rounders should get JT a nice bounty once again. JT 🥇

Agree Normie, best available mid next year with Freo's top 5 pick

    RESILIENCE by Whispering Jack

If the Demons are to win their Round 3 encounter with the Sydney Swans this week, then the frustration of last Friday night’s uncharacteristic performance against the Brisbane Lions cannot be allowed to live in the collective heads of the players.   What made the mediocrity of the first three and a half quarters of the encounter with the Lions so uncharacteristic was that it defied every aspect of the impressive months of preparation for the season the players underwent along with the

FLAG DEFENCE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons unfurled their 2022 premiership flag early on Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields and commenced their campaign to earn the honour of back to back champions in 2023. They did so emphatically beating Footscray by 37 points in a contest they dominated throughout and, but for some wayward kicking for goal early in the piece, they could have determined the issue a lot earlier in the day than during the final term when the Dogs finally hit the wall. The Demons were forced to make

DARK NIGHT by George On The Outer

A pleasant, balmy Brisbane evening with perfect conditions for football turned into a bleak, dark night in more ways than one for the Demons on Friday night at the Gabba. Coming up against a Lions outfit which had been truly cut to shreds by Port Adelaide the previous week, with the Demons having accounted for the Dogs emphatically, it was reasonable for the droves of Melbourne supporters to expect to witness more pain being inflicted as payback for their loss to the same team in the previo
