Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

A premiership player, All Australian, four time club best and fairest. What more can you say?

"The brilliant midfielder signed a mammoth new seven-year deal in June, to tie him to the Dees until 2030. Oliver remains the heartbeat of the Melbourne midfield and this year became just the third Demon to be crowned a four-time club best-and-fairest winner. Oliver also claimed the AFL Coaches’ Association award for the second consecutive year, sharing the 2022 honour with Touk Miller, and was named in the All-Australian team." - Herald Sun

Every year he seem to get better missing 1 game probably cost him the outright winner of the coaches award, the only area he needs to get better is his goal kicking he could easily average a goal a game and that would probably win him the Brownlow and Norm Smith.

When they called Clayton Oliver’s name out at the draft and Roosy presented his  jumper I remember thinking who the hell is Oliver. I went into overdrive and searched out every article that I could find on the kid, the fact that he had won the Morrish Medal helped ease my concern a little but still felt it was a bit of a left field choice. How grateful am I / We that JT called Clayton’s name at Pick 4. Clarry is well on the way to being Best Ever at the MFC and as Durango mentioned if Clarry can increase his goal kicking he will have ticked every box and put himself in line for all major awards and perhaps a few more Premierships as well.!!!

I remember when we recruited him as l was camping at Barham . The local newspaper’s front page had the title : He’s a Demon and the whole page had his ( baby ) face on it..I brought it home and gave it to a friend who threw it out ! Wished l had of kept it now.

Absolute gun.

While Robbie will always remain number one in my heart!

Oliver will be our best of all time!!

As previously mentioned, kick a few more sausage rolls and he will win a Brownlow! The AFLCA is a much better indicator of the best player in the comp! If Selwood hadn’t have broken his hand with a kick, he might have won AFLCA stand-alone and the Brownlow!

I think it was Pendlebury that kicked him in the hand.😪😢

A couple of characteristics of this bloke: Smiles and enjoys the game for the love of the game, every game.

Never backs away, and always backs up,, shares and has a penchant for selflessness.

Secretely, every clubs nightmare at the same time as every clubs idol.

A cult figure, who, there will be a book written about.

Should be a dual Brownlow Medallist

Pathetic Situation

AFL can take their Brownlow and stick it.  What a waste of prime TV space is all it's come to.  I honestly give zero Fs about that suposed award these days.  When Oliver and Gawn (and others I'm sure) can have such dominant seasons and still fall way short on that award, it's time to religate it the eyes of the football public.

As if kicking more goals should make him more eligible.  Gees, the guy has bright red hair, so he's ticked that Brownlow criteria 🙄.

Need to rename the Brownlow for what it is 'umpires favourite player', it's hardly a league best and fairest.

I love Clayton. He’s the most important Melbourne player since Flower, as he changed the perception of the club with his consistency, toughness and determination.

Not a fan of the Mongrel Punt at all. The bloke can’t write an article without telling everyone he was right. Says he’s been ‘all in’ on Oliver since year 3. Oh, you mean when he won the club B&F and was named All Australian? Nice work Nostradamus.

And I hate that he scribbles all over pictures just to get around copyright.

The one thing I really don't want to do when it comes to Clayton Oliver is take his career and his agility for granted. I echo all the sentiments here about him now being one of our very best and want to make sure I appreciated every minute of this greatness.

I'm actually thinking every one of us who renews our memberships each year should have to do a test on Oliver's brilliance and quiz us on his stats. We should also have to watch at least 10 mins of constant highlights (The process would be much like getting a learner's driving license) in order to renew our memberships.

There are lots of really good players in the AFL. But many only have one real standout attribute or skill.

Clarry is next level because he has multiple elite attributes - winning contested ball, incredible hand ball skills, ability to stand up in a tackle and still give off, mental strength, running ability and how well he reads the play.

He is not a one trick little pony.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
