Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

No change, no time to panic, we nearly had them beaten twice.

Change the tactical kick into the Forward line.

Gus has one poor game (by his standards) and you want to move him from the middle after 4 great games in the same role? Glad you are not the coach.

4 great games? Averaging over 8 turnovers a game since gong into the middle (3 more than Viney and Oliver). His disposal is a liability in the middle.

I don't think Melksham  was that bad but he should have kicked three goals which might have changed the game.

Not sure what changes we should make. T mac might need another game and won't get one. Bedford a chance but also a risk. Jvr might give the forward line a different look but is he ready. Still believe it's the kicking into the forward line that hurts us.

ANB out for mine. He is back to being 'Alex Nearly Bullen'. In that he nearly kicks a goal, connects going forward into 50 and nearly gets the ball clean out of a contested situation.

His burning of Koz late in the fourth had me convinced we had no chance.

Perhaps some reshuffling among a few positions to make a non like for like move. I wouldn't mind Tomald back in the team. BBB isn't being done any favors with how our forward line in functioning.

We’re not making multiple changes.

Harmes might get suspended, and without Jordon we don’t have an obvious replacement.

Melksham should be dropped for returning to his laziness. If he’s not kicking set shots he’s useless. But TMac’s not likely to be fit and there’s no obvious replacement.

But reality is these changes are fluttering around the edges. If we’re any chance we need a much better team effort from the 20-21 who will played tonight and will play next week.

Forget the changes. We'll go in unchanged.

Goody has shown this year that time and time again he'll barely make any changes to the team regardless of the result.

We've had opportunities to bring in guys like JVR, Chandler etc to just try to mix it up bit and change up our forward half structure, but nope.. too late for that now unfortunately. Even if it meant resting a few blokes here and there just to have them cherry ripe for September. We just looked so banged up out there tonight..

We've had a Casey team go 17-1 this year and yet we've refused to reward some of those key contributors which has been disappointing.

The problem, and it is an actual problem, is that ANBs role is built into the structure of the team both offensively AND defensively. In essence, he does things to cover players in the D50 and he helps free up Petracca in the F50.

He is so out of touch and low on confidence that he does need to be replaced but I don’t think we can replace him until the summer. He does this thing that players down on talent or form do where they will get the footy but trudge into players to avoid having to try (and fail) to get it to a teammate.

If it were me, I would drop him and free up the forward line immediately and say to the team - we are playing an actual forward line so you won’t have protection or blocks in congestion - just get your dare back and get it moving.

OUT: ANB

IN: MCDONALD

If you believe we're our best side with Tom McDonald then we may have to expedite this. If it was any other team other than Brisbane, I would probably leave him out. But as as ludicrous as it sounds, I feel we can afford to carry him through this one if we have to.

EDIT: Most of course would believe that a fully fit Tom McDonald makes us a better side. The question is how close he can get to that? Unfortunately, we won't actually know unless we play him.

2 minutes ago, whatwhat say what said:

need a second tall forward at the g - it's one of plugger, weed, mitch brown, or jvr for melksham for mine

expecting harmes to be suspended and would probably pick a mid to come, which i guess means it's dunstan which is...not great

You could put Sparrow into midfield more and bring another forward in. Too many mids in the forward line anyway.

out. BigO (concussed) Ahchee Robinson/Wilmot

Dees

names are just names

it’s our style that was lacking and Longmire simply outsmarted us and his players “owned us” again

out. - reckless ill disciplined footy; risky kicks in back 50 ( Gawn 🤮🤮🤮) ; fumbles fumbles fumbles ; kicking to the pockets;

Harmes won't get suspended for that. It was a 50 meter penalty and perhaps a fine.

Yes, got him in the chest not the head.

I really don't know if I would make any changes.

If we had to play Sydney again next week I would back the same boys in to just play better. A number of players not playing well today and that's taking into account how excellent Sydney's pressure was.

Based on tonights result I would think we would lose again, but I can't see anyone in the twos who would have made a big difference.

I really want to hate on Melksham but my head tells me that he likely did a lot more work than his stats would suggest.

Who would come in though? Bowey and Tmac the only real options?

Who has to come in to get rid of BBB?

TMac or Van Rooyen?

Harmes will be suspended

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
