Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Langdon and Kozzy must have been close.

Gawn surely has to get jacket number 6 and Oliver and Trac are locks.

Seems to be a lot of good defenders around at the moment so not sure if May or Brayshaw make it or not.

I think Frittata is a good chance as long as they don’t pick an unbalanced side with too many key/big forwards or too many midfielders as forwards.

Kozzy would have been nowhere near it.

Langdon is stiff

Happy with our ins, Langdon stiff but did drop away in the second half of the year. There doesn’t appear to be any wing in that squad though. It’s become a very important position, unless Shai Bolton is put in as a wing?
Pies are a bit stiff, N Daicos, Pendlebury and Sidebottom have all had excellent years, I’d have one of them over some of MacRae, Kelly, Sinclair and even Warner.

I’d have Jackson over Witts or Blitsavs also. What the ruck selections show is how far beyond the rest of the rucks in the competition Max is, must get a 6th jacket.

I wouldn't, Witts has been excellent this season.

You’re right that Jackson isn’t as good as Witts this year statistically, but I’d say Jacko’s possessions and score involvements are more valuable than a lot of Witts key stats, though his hit outs to advantage are excellent. Freo’s Darcy is stiff, much more consistent than Witts statistically. Gawny in a league of his own (sorry for the seperate posts couldn’t get it to let me post pictures and text, mids feel free to merge).

Yeah I see your point, Witts might be more the the more traditional body on body 'win the hitout' guy.

Darcy very stiff, I would have thought Tim English would have made the squad as well.

not only should max be a lock for his 6th aa jacket, but his second as skipper

I think Cripps might get it if he’s named as a starting mid, but if not, surely Max.

Witts has had a better pure Ruck season but Gawn’s around the ground stuff places him well above him.

had a crack at putting a side together on zerohanger from the 44. rkn this is pretty fair.

maybe sicily to CHB and a different BP in but couldn't really press a case for any too hard.

and tossed up the macrae spot possibly for trac but i think he hasn't been as good as last year or it could be a witts/CCameron/stengle in that order

I would pay a lot of money every single year to see the two squads of 22 play off in an exhibition game. Will never happen obviously but man it would be something.

Some of my best memories of watching AFL is watching the Big V with Lockett, Ablett and Lyon in the same forward line playing SA.

Really? 2 teams of AA. Who do you cheer for?

I like the state of origin but an all star game I wouldn’t even bother to watch on telly

His main issue is consistency. There were a few games prior to his outstanding game against Port, where he was hardly involved. But he is still very young and i think if he continues to improve and have an impact on games he will have few AA jackets by the end of his career.

His last 6 games have been very good and he is developing a real sense of impact and occasion.

Is now playing a lot more front and centre and reaping the benefits. Is an improved more consistent and rounded small forward IMO in 2022 than 2021.

Watch out for him in the Finals as a real x factor and point of difference, in fact a match winner.

Has had some great form of late. Hopefully it can continue. We all forget his still young and really will be coming to age over the next year or two.

Consistency is what challenges the best of young players , so I think we will start to see it improve.

In the years to come, I think you can also look to play him similar to Bolton once he builds an engine and puts on a bit more size - I think Kozzy has had a better staRt to his career. Rolling him through the midfield with his great foot skills and raw speed and agility will make him a nightmare matchup.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
