Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Probably because they are taking into account that Geelong get no real benefit of finishing first (no home final) so they are making it easier to get up and back the highway for their supporters

One would think they would put one of the interstate games on Saturday night, especially as Freo and Bulldogs will be playing on Father's Day.

Sucks for the Dogs. Hope Freo smash them.

Bizarre that there is no game on Saturday night!!

Advantages to whoever loses out of Cat and Woods, as they go up against a team with one day less days and coming from the West. (Addit: same amount of recovery days, reacted to LH's error.)

Whereas if we or Sydney lose, we or they get a team coming of a day extra, although from the north.

Hopefully, they don't sell the two MCG games on the same day as it will bring the Ticketek website down.

As we are playing on Friday night our tickets will most likely go on sale on Tuesday morning.

Therefore keep an eye on your emails for one from the club which has your Barcode(s) necessary to buy tickets.

Anyone know what the go is for MCC? They have created the event, but no info on when and how to buy visitor tickets or reserved seats.

If you sign in at https://am.ticketmaster.com/melbournefc/ it gives you your barcode already that says it can be used for finals.

Ticketek site currently says ticket on sale at these dates/times:

MCC members: Tue 23 Aug 2022 9:00AM (AEST)

AFL members: Wed 31 Aug 2022 9:00AM (AEST)

Club members & general public: Wed 31 Aug 2022 9:00AM  (AEST)

It seems a bit odd but don't shoot the messenger.

I reckon it's a typo and club members would be on the Tuesday

The winner of Melbourne vs Swans is gifted a dream run to the GF.

On the flip side, the loser faces the tough draw to the GF, having to play one of Geelong or Collingwood to get there.

QF is actually a must win.

But if we win we will likely play Pies and the Cats in the GF so I guess we need to beat them either way

but I get it’s the easier way to the GF

Was hoping Freo would get Geelong, then Collingwood, Richmond and Sydney were all in the same grouping, after we win the QF

Then we would've had most likely:  Fremantle, Brisbane or Carlton in a prelim  lol

The dream result would have been for Collingwood and Carlton to draw.

Would have meant Geelong v Fremantle, Collingwood v Carlton and Brisbane v Richmond were the other games.

Which in turn would have meant that the winner of Melb v Sydney would have gone into a prelim to play the loser of Geelong v Fremantle or the winner of Collingwood v Carlton.

Edit: none of the above is true. Collingwood losing would have been better.

Rapt to get the prime slot! Can’t bloody wait. I missed finals last year obviously and missed finals in 2018 due to work travel so I can’t remember the last final I attended!!

BACK TO BACK IS ON!!

Why would that be preferable to a Loser of Geelong v Fremantle and winner of 5v8 Brisbane v Carlton playing us in a prelim?

Hopefully it’s a bit like the 1987 game -blew them away

Personally I think they are real threat to us they seem to match up well and their backs are pretty underrated

We need to bring our best and I hope it’s a very very pro MFC crowd just like it was in ‘87

If I remember correctly it was T Viney that kicked the first game that day to get us going - maybe J Viney this time

87 v Swans was awesome. Great experience. The week before v North the crowd was even more primal.

This weekend could not have gone any better for us. Our best is THE best. Again.

No.  We chose our seats on the Ticketek website when purchasing the tickets.

Hopefully, the system allows us to choose our seats rather than the computer 'allocate' seats and then have to try and change them on the website.

My tip is to check check all the info on Ticketek in advance of the tickets going on sale.  And have the membership barcodes which the club sends (hopefully tomorrow) ready.

Just had a look on Ticketek.
It said club members can purchase up to 10 tickets. (I thought is this right?….) I then looked at the Cats v Pies game and club members can only purchase 1 ticket. Obviously both Victorian clubs with large supporter bases.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
