Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Good 3km time, but no speed. Needs to build repeat speed, repeat efforts and size to go on ball where endurance comes in to play. If he could start playing midfield at Casey he’d really offer our midfield something, but as a half forward he’s just an inferior version of Spargo, we can’t carry 2 of those types

Rivers hasn't rediscovered form and we really need some more dedicated small defenders. Not sure Bowey is the exact need but closer than what Rivers is giving.

My feeling is that Hunt is not effectively limiting his opponent, at the same time as not delivering any counter-attack. So my gut says we have to push Brayshaw back to half-back and bring Harmes back to our midfield.

Melksham has been given his tryout and not delivered. His consistency tells the story.

Where does that leave it...

Out: Rivers, Hunt, Melksham.

In: Bowey, Harmes, and whoever has a solid body and wants to prove they can fight and scrap in contests up forward.

I think ANB has had enough chances this year. So much momentum is lost when he finally gets the ball after fumbling. My only concern is that Chandler and Bedford has has a few opportunities and never really grabbed them. I wonder if Laurie is the best option. Seems a good kick and sure ball handler.

Bedford took a few of his opps when given the chance.  Some of his pick ups of loose ground balls then finish for goal were stunning with limited TOG.

Why does everybody want Hunt out? Kept Ginnivan quiet. I think everybody is overreacting here. It wasn't a bad lose. We lost by a goal. Gawn missed a sitter and Jordon's holding the ball decision was a joke.

Only 1 change Harmes in Sparrow out

I got ridiculed for calling for ANB to be dropped this week. His defensive efforts fall short for what a liability he is in attack. How many times did he get caught with the ball or fumbled?

Enough is enough. We need to take advantage when we have midfield dominance.

Out: ANB, Rivers

In: JVR, Bowey

Hibbo was putrid tonight, but has been good most of  the year.

ANB roles is one of defence. He plays a role that allows Trac to roam forward. I’m not sure there is anyone else that can do it. Even when he stuffs it up with the ball, he’s a role player.

JJ plays the wing role well, but he’s too slow on the outside and Ed was getting schooled by Sidebottom on the other.

I would be very tempted to target one of Spargs and Kozzy for Chandler. They have too often let us down defensively this year. Cannot reward mediocrity.

I thought  it was the non playing 23 that was supposed to keep us honest.

ANB 22 pressure acts, our third-most behind Oliver and Viney.

I reckon that's going to keep him in the side.

However, ANB, Pickett, Spargo and Sparrow combined for 0 tackles inside forward 50. Bearing in mind Fritsch and Brown also laid 0 tackles inside 50, that's not going to win us games of football.

Lever only played 85% TOG. Would not at all be surprised if he's carrying an injury.

Meanwhile just as Hibberd and Hunt both regress back into the form that made us all suspect neither was best 22 this year, we've flipped Joel Smith back yet again to a forward at Casey.

Quantify ANB's 22 pressure acts and subtract the number of times he fumbled or got caught with the ball.

ANB fails the eye test. He's been a liability up forward for a while. Needs time at Casey.

I just want to see reward and accountability. Reward for the guys at Casey that are performing in an undefeated team. Accountability for players in the ones that are underperforming to keep them honest and have that competition for spots.Unfortunately with another bye this week for Casey I think there will be minimal change again. Naming players in the squad or as a sub isn’t enough for me. Get them in and give them an opportunity.
In : Kade “ viagra “ Chandler. He has been dead set stuff this year.
Out : ANB. Been underwhelming for weeks and I think Chandler could do his role but hurt more offensively. Possibly Bowey for Rivers.

Ben Brown had a season high 16 possessions last night and kicked 2 goals but he is such a massive liability when the ball is in his hands in open play, on the ground and defensively. I don’t think he is accretive to us winning.

I am not saying Weideman is the answer but if TMac was fit, Brown wouldn’t be in my side.

Lever played on Ginnivan most of the night and destroyed him

Hunt was ok

If Smith does well at Casey, he might replace Melksham

Harmes for Jordon - his knee is stuffed - painkillers aren’t cutting it for him

Hunt was on McCreery. He should have contributed WAY more to us offensively given his matchup.

JVR has to come in until TMac is ready. Maxy/Dogga can drift forward, but they are not forwards.

Correct. We need another bigger body in the forward line whoever it maybe. Can't just have Brown as sole big guy. Max and in particular Jackson have trouble playing forward although Max has performed on odd occasions. Other than about 15 mins in the GF Jacko has done next to nothing. All the hype on him is highly overrated IMO.

If anyone saw the Viney interview after the game have look at Brown in the background. Can hardly walk.

BBB was enormous last night. If people are expecting him to do all the donkey work in the air as our lone KPF, and provide defensive pressure, they are kidding themselves.

Our mid/small forwards are letting us down. And if the Unicorn is agile enough to play as a mid as some say, then he's capable enough of applying forward pressure.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
