Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Wowee! Pro violence and a dig at mental health in one post. Well done

Really? I am having a dig at mental health, because I think it's ludicrous for every second player to come out and hide behind mental health every time they have to deal with a negative narrative?

That is the epitome of minimising mental health, and it actually takes away from those who truly are battling mental health issues. He was fair game getting stuck into Gawn, but he can't cop it the other way? Give me a break.
A kid who really is suffering from mental health issues, is not putting himself out there like he has. He was happy to cop the praise, so he needs to be happy to cop the negativity coming his way.

As for violence, I said I hope he gets tackled high for no frees. I did not say I hope we injure him.

Get off your weird high horse.

You know nothing about the nature of his mental health. Nor do I. But you are saying he is faking mental health because he can't take the public backlash. That's called minimising the complexities of mental health

Empathy not your strong suit, obviously

Carry on

You are right, I have no idea of the nature of his mental health, and I did not suggest he is faking it. I just find it odd that it wasn't until a journo prompted him to comment on it, that he suddenly said, oh yeah it's taken a toll. Seems very convenient.

I have all the empathy in the world for anyone who is battling mental health issues. I have no empathy for clowns who put themselves firmly in the limelight and when they don't receive the reaction they hope for, they conveniently say how difficult it's been. Was it also his poor mental health that caused him to post defamatory Tik Tok videos talking trash about women?!

Collingwood has a long history of letting their players get away with pathetic behaviour off the field. Ginnivin seems like another in a long line of absolute tools, who is being encouraged by his club and the fans to behave poorly.

Sorry @binman - should’ve been clearer: Bala as in Balaclava! A much easier trip, but can sometimes take ages to get on the train afterwards with these size crowds, especially with kids.

Then I've got nothing!

I think its funny that the Toothless brigade are keen for a little gingivitis….

Why can you never solve a crime in the Pies cheer squad? They all have the same DNA and no dental records…

i'm not sure they have any dna, well at least not human dna

We are a well structured and disciplined side.

We are playing a rather arrogant, high risk to reward team. If a few words can get them to try a different approach, then they will be playing into our hands.

We will build our wall and have a strategy to blunt their corridor runs.

I can't see them going with another strategy other then fast footy and pressure.

We will outlast them. They could drain themselves early with having to chase us, and to get the ball in front of us, then all the better.

I reckon, it will be the 3rd quarter that decides this game. Don't let them get momentum and we have this.

 Salem to hit his straps.

Petracca to kick straight.

Kossie and Sparg's to light it up.

Gawn, to feed Oliver with a duck entree, a Mag pie, and the sherrin on a platter.

Be ruthless.

Go Dees

It appears on the weather forecasts apps that I am looking at that most off the rain (showers) should stop by 7pm tonight.

So for all of those who can , rock up to the G tonight and see the mighty Dees crush the Pies…..If I’m wrong, apologies in advance… come and see us crush them in the wet.

On another note: does anyone have any clever tips for parking at the G? Normally, we train it in from Bala’ but want to make a quicker getaway tonight with the kids. Any ideas?

Northern side of the MCG parkland, amid the trees within 60 metres of the ground, enter through the corner gate, north-west corner. Park there all the time for night matches, arriving moderately early (and if you have a 'disabled' card, it's free!)

Attendants are really helpful - getaway after the game is a breeze, as well.

Yep, I'm nervous. I hate when there's enough of an pattern to bring superstition and hoodoos into the conversation.

But the opportunity is there to guarantee our spot in the top 4.

Rationale:

Puts us out of reach of Freo & Carlton. Meaning all three of Sydney, Magpies and Brisbane would have to finish ahead of us with at least 15 wins and percentage.

Collingwood's percentage is showing off the fact they've won their last five games by a combined total of less than 5 goals. They could only then pass us by winning both the remaining games (16w total) while we lost the lot.

Sydney play Collingwood next week. Obviously only one of them can get a win which means only one of them could get past us.

So I'll reaffirm; this specific win would guarantee our spot in the top 4, even if we botched the final two rounds.

I can't comment on an individual player but I have some sympathy for Jaded's comments taken generally.  It is a bit like food allergies.  Lots of people jumped onto the glutin intolerance bandwagon (for example) but had no real problem.  The only good thing to come of it was that as result there is more warning labelling of food and menus. That must be a great boon to the genuinely glutin intolerant.  I'm not sure that sort of benefit applies with mental health. Perhaps it does.

It’s getting a bit ordinary on here.

Agree.

Let's get back on track.

Confident of a win tonight just as I was last week. Adams missing for Collingwood leaves them with a significant hole which means our midfield MUST dominate tonight.

I'm taking my tin  of Brasso to the game tonight with a clean rag.

Win, lose or draw I'm passing to Ed as he walks of the ground so he can go home tonight and give his Premeirship Medal a quick polish.

Bring on the Filth.

Last Pies game i sat in front of the most foul mouthed, bogan, arrogant and utterly pathetic supporters ive ever encountered in my football viewing days. One even coughed all game right on top of us until i finally moved at 3/4 time.

The crowd seemed to be worth at least 3 goals and being a Collingwood home game and the way the game unfolded, they definitely had the louder voice.

We need to turn up both on the field and off it.

With the inclement weather on the cards i think it will be close and decided by a few kicks in the last.

Dees by 9.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
