Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I am more nervous than if the Purge was about to start. Silly really as by any metric we should flatten them. I guess my fear is this thread should it be a close game.

BTW big shout out to everyone going, super jealous, make some noise.

You can argue about the quality of their wins and who they have played, but one metric where they are ahead is winning form. Ten on the trot is better than what we've achieved in the same period.

Watching this one with my Collingwood supporting mate who wouldn't be able to name half of their team, but that won't stop him from giving it to me if they win.  Please win Dees.

One thing you'll notice tonight is how insufferable the Collingwood supporter base are towards the umpires. By far the worst of all clubs.

All it will take is one marginal free kick go against them or not paid to them in the first quarter and they'll all be out of their seats and booing the umpires for the rest of the game as if they've already cost them the game.

Last week against Port, they booed and hurled abuse to the umpires in the AFL members both at half time and full time (despite actually winning the game) because they couldn't get over the fact that Ginnevan didn't get paid a free in the first 5 minutes of the game.

They will get plenty of them tonight.

I'll be real flat if we lose tonight. We'll still be marching into finals regardless, but they've had the wood over us in recent years, beating us in 5 of the past 7 encounters. We owe them a belting.

I'll also fear for my safety leaving the ground regardless of the outcome. Pies fans are a different species and a good case study for sub-human lifeforms.

I was at the Pies-Bombers game where Elliot won it with the after the siren kick.  I was right in front of the umpire's race.  The Collingwood supporters paused their wild celebrations to boo the umpires for the entire time they walked off, even though they just won.  Classy.

On the subject of booing: it’s likely Langers will attract more than his fair share tonight. Maybe only for the first quarter or part thereof, since average Collingwood supporter = attention span of a moth.
I hope they boo him loudly and often as that’d mean he’s getting a lot of the ball.
That said, we (DA) will try our damndest to drown them out. Hopefully all Dees peeps join in!

Last time we played them we were in a "form" slump.

No May, Lever hobbling and Petty off the ground when they got a run-on. Business end of the season, those three playing and we are turning the corner.

Collingwood supporters are up and about however they have had an easy run home and only just beaten sides on the bottom.

Port by 6pts at home

Ess by 4

Crows by 5

North by 7

Suns by 5

Giants at home by 11

That tells me they are super overrated and hanging by a thread.

Dees win.

I'm convinced that our stunningly well performing offensive structure will make this game a foregone conclusion by half time.

Fireworks from centre clearances will revive memories of bang bang bang.

Spargo could kick 6 plus give Fritsch a few.

Then Demonland will worry all week as to whether we have peaked too soon and demand a week of loading

Spring is in the air, we are ‘on song’ and face Collingwood in a ‘blockbuster’ at the ‘G’. How good is that?  Shades of the 1950s and 60s for my generation of Dees supporters.

Our team defence will suffocate the life out of their game plan, and reduce the noise of their fans to a whimper by early in the last quarter.  The ‘magpie army’ will look like a multitude of black and white ants as they trail out of the ground post siren, while the ‘G’ reverberates to the throng of the Grand Old Flag.

Dees by a comfortable 8 goals.

Gawn down with a serious ankle injury, basically unable to move at FF for a half.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
