Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Can anybody tell me which bays are general admission, it's not on the MCG website

Will not be many

home games I usually sit behind the goals western end. For pies matches this is all taken by cwood as reserved seating.

I can get a seat up in the clouds top deck and it’s our home game GMTS’s

We were spoiled with home games in the first half of the season but it's been a while since our last one and we only have two more games at the 'G and then the next time we go will be The Finals 2022. I think the weather, scheduling, cost & inconvenience, will all be dulled by The Occaison.

This is it; we're in the endgame now. We need to build momentum and hit the finals running. We need to put fear back in the opposition. Get behind the boys. Cheer them on. Lift them up. Go Dees

If we get 75k+ for both the Carlton and Collingwood games we will get our highest average home attendance ever, despite Anzac eve and QB big freeze both being away games.
The narrative that Melbourne fans haven’t turned up this year is a myth, we haven’t had the huge upturn in crowds many have hoped for, partly due to COVID, but it has still been one of our best years ever. Even if we only get 40-50k for the next two games, it will still be in our top 4 best attendances ever! Hardly a disaster.

Exactly, if you can go to games like this and don't I don't know why you bother following at all.

There is no chance it will come close to 90.

Crap weather, Covid back it will max out at 75.

I'd love it to be like Anzac Eve in 2017 when it was a shock to get 85.5K.

We just don't have that many supporters. Ticket sales indicated 70K.

Friday nights have also drawn really poorly this year.

I’m just so surprised, if I was living and working in Melbourne CBD you’d totally walk/tram down after work with the lads and get into it!

Despite the fact that it’s our home game, the Pies will no doubt have the bigger crowd… it’s no coincidence that stock levels at Cash Converter stores throughout Melbourne, have been steadily increasing this week.

I agree but considering how many people are working from home there aren’t that many people that will just pop across from the city.

for me I’m leaving the office at 5 on the dot to start the pre game experience. Not sure I’ll be upright come 7:50….

Well I wouldn't believe them.

80,000 would be a huge result. 90,000 with Covid still kicking, limited parking and the fact that it's our home game is a pipe dream.

Wouldn’t believe them or the MCG?

I like the "Friday weather forecast... FIRE- moderate chance   .... really?  At the game?   NWind is interesting. unusual for August. that means there could be a strong advantage kicking to the punt rd end first.Might get a little drizzle. I'd definitely be going if in town.

Why wont filth supporters turn up on account of it being a Melb home game?  So what!  They had theirs on Queen Lizzy Birthday . Theyre 10-0. ffs What else are they going to do. Can you visit relatives and mates at Barwon Prison on Friday night?  I doubt it.

Only problem is late start at almost 8pm. Half the crowd will have drunk a skin full  waiting for the  bounce.   There will definitely be fights during and  especially after the game if pies lose. I wouldnt be taking any  kids. Men only night or maybe a few Frankston girls with tatts.

Gil Mc Lachlan is a clown.

You only get 80k these days if the game is one for which attendance is pre-planned. The classic example is the Anzac day clash which for competing supporters is often a must book early game (FOMO).

There's simply not enough time in one week to "build the book".

Anything near 70k would be a great result

Fantastic, Flaps.  I would love to be there, but won’t arrive until August 21st. Haven’t seen the family or the Demons for three years. (Mine was 2019, round 1 versus Port Adelaide, which was definitely a day to forget.) I’m hoping to attend all of our finals games. Go Demons!

I am happy you are blessed with a body that is capable Dr. I am still passionate and pay my membership as  I have for most of the last 50 years. Does my inability to attend these night games when I will end up in level 4 which I cannot get to make me now redundant. I will have managed 3 games live this year. So on the basis of your comment I should not pay my membership for season 2023?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
