Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs

I think tonight could be the game where guys hit some form. The big men will dominate and I think guys like Rivers, Sparrow, ANB and Spargo will hit their straps. Not normally the optimist, but recon we will be primed for tonight.

No BBB helps us to lower our eyes forward, which we desperately need. Melksham will play a key role in connection with mids. Weid will try his guts out with some aggression which Is needed.

I hope the weed goes wild tonight and there is no glysophate in the drink bottles.  Go Dees

Cannot underestimate the importance of this game.

For one, we can't afford to drop many games for ladder position.

For another, we need to keep building form and whilst we're 3-1 in the last month, we don't want to be too patchy with alternating W-L (or worse).

For another, I want to keep the Dogs away from finals, and I just like beating them.

It won't be easy without either of our two best key forwards and with Oliver, Lever and Gawn all seemingly of questionable fitness. But so important as a win tonight puts us 1.5 games clear of Fremantle and a game clear of Collingwood (at worst), our next two opponents. Sets us up to close the door on top 4.

Was quietly confident last week but not so this week.

Bulldogs have a sub par defence. Hope we have a plan to exploit it. Weideman will be double teamed so not expecting much. Fritsch to kick 5 if he kicks straight.

Bulldogs will try the tsunami style run and carry attack that Collingwood use so successfully against us. Need to stop easy exits from our forward 50.

Last nights result did us no favours.

Big game in the context of the season

Would like to see Salem drifting forward from time to time.

Round 19 Demons v Dogs. Much as Heracles made atonement, Jason sought redemption and Odysseus's long journey home. The Dees have a series of "labours' decreed by Zeus 'Gill' from on high Mt. Olympus AFL house. The  Vemeon   Bris'Vegas' Lions dealt with (away from home). Cyclops 'Tom Hawkins' (bruising first encounter decider in September). Stymphalian Birds 'Magpies' and Laestrygonians 'Lygon Street' Lotus-Eaters await reality readjustment at the 'G'. Dockers it seems will be on the first ship attempting Gibraltar shame about the avalanche.

After consulting the Oracles at Demonworld. Tonight's challenge; Cereberus, the three headed dog (Bontempelli, Noughton and Daniels) . Dog's aforementioned 'canines' mere mortals on kennel leave or restrained. Doggies appear to be the hired help, like security? Demon’s all ground defense to take a stranglehold.

Expect a grinding performance, with, like last week, periods where we start to click into gear , and periods where it is arm wrestle.

Won't be surprised if we lose. Willie thrilled with a win.

In a horse racing analogy, our spring carnival group one target, our grand final, is in nine weeks, and we are in the the second week of this preparation.

We are a genuine group one horse, and at our best we win the Gropu one, (and did last year), so despite not being close to fully wound up, and the other horses wound up for a early carnival win, our talent, naturtal briiliance and building fitness will get us close to a win.

Pleasantly surprised with the first up win, a win second up will he a bonus, and connections thrilled.

But like the trainer their eye is is on the group one prize.

The connections trust their trainer to have our horse, redlegs, peaking at the right time and not to flatten her early in the prep, searching for win that isn't black type.

Redlegs to be up on the pace early doors, control the tempo and stack them up, surge to a a two length lead at the top of the straight and defy a late charge to win by a long head.

Trainer and connections excited about taking on tbe young colt from tbe West next race, and very confident of rolling him (and getting overs into the bargain).

Connections holding off the futures bet for the group one till after this race as they know tbe mug punters will jump off redlegs loses, or even has a scratchy win.

Spoke to Mr Ed. Our stallions don’t like the nags we’re playing against and are going to get home with a little tune ‘freed from desire’ playing in the background.

Good points. The benefit of our smaller forward line is the added pressure the smaller forwards can provide. I expect to see us either lock it in our forward 50 for longer, or successfully pressure them into coughing it up at half forward/wing by cutting off options.

Given their taller forward line in Naughton, Bruce, and JUH we may have some success rebounding if we prevent marks inside D50.

Great pickup .  Only 25 yesterday. We have 7 to 8 years at least of watching him play.

A bit of trivia when looking this date up.

In 2016 the Dees have 4 Rising Star nominations.

Oliver , Harmes, Trac and OMac.

3 go on to be premiership players.

Who would have thought back in Roosey's last year this was the future for these young men.

No pressure but it’s Sam’s time to shine at night again, as he once did.

A few weeks back when Khamis debuted for the dogs I used that as we both had him in our SC team.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
