Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I’d be keen to see Thomas in. Feels like another that didn’t necessarily get the right support around him this year (with personal issues). Think he’d go well at Dees and have a couple of roles he could thrive in. Was tracking really well before this year.

What are his kicking skills like?

From the little i have seen of him he seems to be a good kick, but i haven't watched him enough to really assess him.

If Lobb isn't traded to a Vic team he will sit out for a year and claim mental health. He's already transitioned his life to Vic and requested a trade in successive years.

Will be interesting what happens with him after he sits out of the game for a year. Would Vic clubs still be keen on him at his age after a year on the sidelines?

Dogs taking Liam Jones might indicate they’d get Lobb in a year. If their young talls still aren’t ready. Personally can’t see Lobb taking no cash or Freo taking nothing for him.

We could offer Freo one of our not very good talls if they’re so desperate for an ageing tall who doesn’t want to be there.

Perfect target for us. He's a smooth mover with good skills, would fill half forward flank or outside mid role nicely. He's young still too so would fit with our list. With a fresh environment and good preseason, he could be a real weapon next year onwards. Go knocking Dees!

It was nearly identical besides the flag.  Lever was there 3 years, played in the GF, probably Adelaide’s best player on the day and was the squad of 40 for the all Australian

Pies are getting rid of a promising key fwd to the Cats in Henry and an AA ruck to us while paying part of the salary

They are bringing in Frampton and McStay.

List better? Hell no

Why on earth do people keep referring to Henry as a key forward?!? Doing my head in

He's a lively 187cm fwd/swingman with spring and goalsense - no more a key forward than Fritsch and really a prime build/skillset for a good modern mid

Does any other club spend so much energy trying to appear to play hard ball through the media?

What’s the point? He wants to go. Let him go and get a good deal done that suits you. It’s weird.

So we talk to WC, Jackson has done us the favour of not announcing a club, just a city. If we’re looking at a Future first I’d say WC will finish lower than Freo so that’s better, if WC split their pick two then we do Jackson for a pick inside the top ten this year + WC FF + WC second round which we trade for Grundy.

Spot on. And given his forward pressure is awful Geelong will probably make him work for a game on the wing or half back before unleashing him as a goal kicker anyway.

Big loss for the Pies, but they’re losing guys who aren’t in their 22, and McStay fills a far more important need. Ash Jonson is a better version of Henry and teams generally down play 2 medium goal kickers.

And the other 3 they’re bringing in will cover gaps as Howe, Pendles and Sidebottom age out. All very cheap and capable, smart recruiting.

High quality user by foot. Likes the physical stuff and was right up there in f50 tackles last year and good at winning the ball at stoppages. He and Tracc rotating between mid/fwd would be terrific.

Alternatively could play out of defence for us too.

You'd have to feel for Lobb - requesting a trade 2 years in a row... must be difficult to work hard for your employer week in week out as a by-product.

The problem with Lobb is that his deal was so heavily front ended that there is not a lot of value in Freo trading him

Thomas looked like he could be Shaun Burgoyne 2.0  in 2021 and kicked 24.17 and averaged 18 possessions. This year he was hopeless and looked mentally all over the shop.

He definitely has the potential be a good pick up and suites our needs well.

This came up on my FB page. We are dealing with the club that has the lowest to offer us for LJ. Where as WC have so much more in draft capital.

WC have just announced they want Jackson, so now we are dealing with the club with the highest draft capital. 2, 26 and a Future first gets it done. Or if they want to split 2 to get another top ten pick to trade to us that’s good too.

They will never agree that - that’s laughable. Two top 4 picks and one on the 20s.

They are in it as much to say that they will take him in the PSD if he is there I reckon.

They won’t do it with 2 of course but they’re open to split it to get it done. Get a top ten pick if WC split, + FF + 26 for Luke and 42.ABDE49EE-0FFD-4A8F-B486-E10A08043BE8.thumb.png.11930647f6a569ddfa2c700647cac6f0.png

Oh right, I didn’t realise. I watched him play once and he was marking everything but ended up with 5 behinds or something similar. Knows how to find the ball for sure

toumpas 2.0

Rubbish Even Toumpas would  look and perform satisfactorily with Trac Clarry Vines and Gus giving him the ball.

Has much more pace and run than Toumpas and would fit in as a runner in our slightly one paced match winning mids brigade.

I'd be chatting to the Lions

Bundling a few picks in the second round for their pick 15 to help with points.

i also think the Dockers will end up trading Lobb to the Dogs for a deal involving pick 11 for Lobb and something, then 11 and 13 to us for Jackson

I'd be then bundling pick 11, 13 and our future first to the Eagles for pick 2 who are keen on teens picks to access W.A players and pick 20 coming back to us as well and forwarded on to the Pies for Grundy.

So essentially

Out: Jackson, 2023 first round

In: Picks 2, 15, Brodie Grundy

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
