Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Clearly it started yesterday at the earliest, which means they should be done by next Thursday, making it very easy for them to be available for a Saturday afternoon game at home. Can’t see any issues with them missing unless they either have Covid now or catch it during their iso period, which is not even a thing anymore.

More thinking about selection policy given Brown wasn't picked despite being available after his iso.

Dunstan\Bedford won't play have you seen the bench? They are not playing funny buggers that's the team.

Sorry WERRIDEE, you've now lost your abode and your holiday house. I'll enjoy going down to Sorrento and catching up with Goody and Max down the pub.

Not sure Weid is better than Tmac

but he is a lot younger and possibly will play the same role in 2 years

Ok lets look at stats. Including the Grand Final in which he kicked 2 goals one in Junk time, T.Mac has not had the impact he had early in 2021. His form so far in each of the 5 games has been average to say the least. If a squeeze for positions in the forward line was an issue in spite of his bullocking and occasional good bit of play he has disappionted. Whilst not an automatic fan of Weeds , he seems to have improved his contested possesions and has taken some good marks. The " AGE" differential is another factor at play. T. Mac is getting older, Maybe JUST MAYBE, the long term experiment of Weeds might start seeing dividends. BBB Is a quality Forward performer over many years and just had to come back.

Congratulations LUKE DUNSTAN. Dont read anything into Casey Form at all, in a windswept lost outpost in the Centauri Region you just cannot equate form with class. Lets see what he has got and hope he more than makes up for a missing Viney!

Channel 7 just said both Lever and Viney could have technically played since the close contact rules ease tonight but they haven’t trained this week so we are being cautious.
I have no doubt we are giving Lever a rest with that foot. Just hope Viney doesn’t have any foot issues again which we are disguising as Covid related protocols.

It does appear as tho the easing of close contact rules will apply thru the AFL for the relevant states. Suck it WA 😂

Good balanced changes considering we never want to be without Lever or Viney.
Massive chance for Dunstan. He would want to have a bloody good game if he’s to displace one of our other mids, which can only be a good thing.
I imagine it won’t be smooth sailing and it might take a half for him to settle in.

Tigers are missing Dusty and Grimes which just about equals us missing Viney and Lever.

Grimes out is a big loss for them, as is Pickett who played well in last years game against us. Not sure if Balta is carrying an injury, I think their defense will really be under the pump. Also Cotchin is going to be feeling the burn tonight, they really don’t have enough run, I feel a big 3rd qtr coming and some dodgy tactics in the ruck. Ever since Dimma slagged off Schwartz I have been wanting us to rag doll this team. I feel sorry for Tmac who has been close but if it means Sam finally finds some confidence it is a worthwhile investment.

We've all wanted a run of Weid in the side and now he's played a handful, the real test now is how he gels/works with BBB. Hope he takes it.

BB with one of Weid / Plugger is a step up from Weid & Plugger IMHO

Will be interesting to see how this combo goes.

Given he has been in the system for quite a while, Weid should be starting to find some consistency.  However, I just worry about the above the shoulders part,  ground ball / pressure side and his maturity in terms of his skills / picking the right options on the angles when shooting for goal.  Hopefully this improvement comes with more game time & training at the highest level but we would want to start seeing a fair output from here if he's to hold his spot.

Finally! Roger - we should go bowling sometime.

Luke clearly still adjusting to our training demands. He was initially blown away by the change up (understandable coming from Lazy Acres) and still a ways to go.

I guess Dunstan is pencilled in to go up a couple of gears. No doubt he will replicate his game versus the Tiges last year. Might have to postpone the bowling, but in the meantime I'll work on my bowling shirt collection.

That's on the basis that they're only household close contacts and don't actually have COVID.

Poor decision regarding Tommy, disrespectful.

Will be medical sub.

Because that shows him more respect, the potential to sit his bum down on the bench all night besides doing endless run through’s to warm up.

McDonald was a given for Brown given Richmond's lack of height in defense and it being a dry night. Was the right decision. Weeds undoubtedly giving us more atm.

Not a fan of the Dunstan inclusion. I am happy to be proven wrong but he is a poor man's Dan Hanneberry and lacks consistent grunt. I would have rather given Rosman a game on the wing and switch Brayshaw into the middle, or something similar.

Happy to see Sparrow starting in the middle, hope he gets a good crack at a full game running through the midfield. Hopefully he can step out of the Petracca, Oliver, and Viney shadow.

Good to see Weid keep his spot but really feel for TMac. Out of good form, yes, but not really doing too much wrong.

With Covid protocols ruining selection planning, we could see a lot of players getting games at late notice.

Massive call by the selection committee to go for Weid over TMac, those critiquing it just remember they’ve barely put a toenail wrong in this regard since late 2020. Backing Weid in is a big decision but for me it does three things: firstly, it gives Weid a big chance to stake his claim for the second forward spot while showing huge faith in him. Second, it shows to him that we still see him as a big part of our future so that faith can be repaid by him. Thirdly (and I almost see as the biggest thing), it will light a bonfire under TMac. He’s a proud guy, he worked his [censored] off to get back to being in the team to eventually win a premiership, so I have no doubt that he will see this as a challenge thrown down to him by the selection committee.

This week tests our depth, but what an opportunity it’s presented for those that have come in.

All good points,  I do not disagree on any particular point, perhaps I look at Tmac with rose coloured glasses for one particular bullocking goal against  ? (west coast) in the goal square.  Weid could easily get to Tmac level, its all above his shoulders.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
