Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

If we use form as a guide then we should forfeit and play them all at Sandy to get a few kicks.

With the young guys like Bate just keep perservering.

The problem is with our injuries and form of experienced players. No team could perform under those conditions.

Why drop the future?

The answer is take a deep breath, stick to the plan, perservere with the younger players and review the list (BIG TIME) at the end of the season if things do not go to plan.

The trick is to remain calm. Panic breeds unrest. Unrest destabilises the club.

Calm ensures an organised and rational approach to getting the situation back in order, ie winning games. If we do not win to many then calm means we review the list without stress and make the right chooses in the draft.

It now looks like we can rule out Moloney, Rivers and Sylvia.

We have no choice but to rush back Dunn and Pickett and give Bate another go.

B: Bizzell, Carroll, Whelan

HB: Bell, Holland, Ferguson

C: Johnstone, Bruce, Green

HF: C Johnson, Miller, Pickett

F: Davey, Dunn, Yze

FOLL: White, Jones, McDonald

I/C: Bate, Buckley, P Johnson, Petterd

so the story goes....another 2 to the injured list....Moloney and Travis.

Leave Paul Johnson in the team, he was one of our better ones on Sunday.

More injuries to senior players, i am almost in shock :o

Although it's depressing, there is some positives, at least some kids will get some game time, and hopefully (get on my knees) the softness and weakness's we seem to carry will fade with the injection of new players...

PJ to CHB, i liked him back there in the 2nd half. You don't need him to mark, he is quick, agile and can spoil. Could be a long termer for CHB, and rivers can play on the 2nd best forward, Carrol 3rd etc.....

We have to look at who we are playing, the Dockers, their style is hard running, quick team, Pavlich is the only real power forward, Carroll plays well on him, the wil end the Giant up forward to change with Longmuir, give PJ another Crack down back. Tarrent will get Bell. We need to inject some pace into our team to combat Freo's foot speed. On our side Rivers is doubtful, Pickett is still under done, Col who knows and the other injuries we all know about.

B: Whelan Carroll PJ

HB: Petterd Bell Biz

C: Wheatley Jones Buckley

HF: Bruce Miller Davey

FF Dunn Green Yze

R White Macdonald TJ

Int Godfrey Jamar Moloney Brown

In Petterd, Buckley, Dunn, Biz

Out Holland, Ferguson, Bate, Ward

Petterd and Buckley over CJ and Pickett because of Freo's speed and hard running both Buckley and Petterd are quick, if Rivers is fit comes in for Biz, if Sylvia is comes in for Dunn

B: Whelan Carroll PJ

HB: Petterd Bell Biz

C: Wheatley Jones Buckley

HF: Bruce Miller Davey

FF Green <> Dunn Yze

R White Macdonald TJ

Int Godfrey Jamar Brown Pickett

In Petterd, Buckley, Dunn, Biz

Out Holland, Ferguson, Bate, Ward, Moloney (inj)

I like it pretty much but I think Moloney should not be risked.

if Rivers is fit comes in for Biz, if Sylvia is comes in for Dunn

My team, but this is without knowing fully all the injuries (do any of us though  )

B: Whelan, Carroll, P. Johnson

HB: Ward, Rivers, Bell

C: Wheatley, McDonald, Bruce

HF: Davey, Miller, Yze

F: Green, Dunn, Garland/Newton

R: White, Jones, Johnstone

I: Jamar, Bate, Petterd, C. Johnson

Moloney in for Wheatley if he can play

Bizzell in if Rivers can't play.

Must play Dunn and one of Newton or Garland

Must bring i CJ

Must persevere with PJ and Bate

Can't keep playing with Godfrey or Brown, we just aren't going anywhere with those players

IN: Rivers, Dunn, Garland/Newton, Petterd, CJ

OUT: Holland (too slow for forward and backline), Brown, Godfrey, Ferguson (a given), Moloney (please let him be alright)

people who suggest dropping godfrey and brown clearly have no clue and have no been watching the first 3 rounds. while i would be the first to call for their dropping if the dees had a full list, while decimated with injuries, they have been 2 of our more capable and reliable players...

while players like PJ, C. Johnson, bate and others have floundered, you can always rely on those 2 players to run hard all day. brown will always pick up atleast 20 possies and is our only player at the moment who will run hard all day and actually try to implement this run and carry tactic we now use.

while its depressing having those 2 in the team, realistically they are good options through this tough time.

go godders and doggie!

and my team

HB: N.Brown, P. Johnson, Bell

C: Wheatley, McDonald, Bruce

HF: Davey, Miller, Bate

F: Green, Dunn, Yze

R: White, Jones, Godfrey

I: Jamar, Ward, Holland, Pettard

In: Pettard, Holland, Dunn, Bizzel

Out: Moloney (inj), T. Johnstone (inj-he will miss atleast 1 week), Ferguson (is possibly the worst player to have played for melbourne. definite delisting at end of year)

out through injury: rivers, neitz, robbo, mclean, T.Johnstone, Moloney, Frawley, Sylvia, Pickett (his lack of fitness is redix it must be considered an injury to take 6 weeks to get fit)

thats one of the worst teams ive seen in a while. look at that injury list...

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
