Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It was out of Hunt, Hibberd and Tomlinson for the back pocket spot and I decided on Tomlinson.

I think it is neck and neck between Hunt and Bowey for the HBF. Hunt is more experienced and so exciting when he gets running and breaking the lines, particularly in combination with Langers, but Bowey is so cool and so precise and his delivery. If Hunt works with Choco over the preseason and improves his disposal, he would get the nod from me.

I think there is no doubt that Bowey should get the half back spot. He is cooler under pressure and a better kick.

didn't get past first line as laird is a midfielder for the crows, not a defender anymore

When Crouch gets back into the side. Laird can switch back to the backline where he played his best football.

fixed 😈

can't see laird playing anywhere but midfield - he was their best and fairest winner as a mid in 2021

i think it's more likely they'll re-tool sloane into a different role, a la the peppies sending heppell to the back flank to clear space for zerrett and ellen to do their thing as their 1-2 mids

I think Sparrow is now worthy to be promoted into the firsts. We also need to recruit  another tall and solid forward.

Sparrow is now one of my faves so I would have him in the starting 22, he is only going to get better as is JJ, apparently Oozze is very impressed with both these boys.

LITD my only concern with the List is lack of a young Ruckman 202 - 205cm learning from the best.!!

Yes a lack of a developing young ruck could be an issue. However we are so blumin professional these days I’m wondering if we have already targeted a young promising ruck from another side who is out contract at the end of the ‘22.

As you said learning to ruck from Gawn, whilst in a top 4 side with a great culture would be an attractive proposition to many.

I would rather play Weeds at CHB which could provide him with some confidence and Mitch Brown up forward. Maybee not the silliest idea. Love the Senior side and inclusion of Dunstan will pay of in spades.Hunt and Sparrow Extremely unlucky. Cheezus have we now got some envious and serious depth. Our second side would beat any of the bottom 4.

I know where you are comming from, but I think the better statement would be "lack of another young ruckman".  We had Jackson who is both young and learning from the best.  I'm guessing that we are making the assessment that being within the premership window, we are better off having the mature ruck depth of Daw and/Or there wasn't another young ruck still available in the available pool worth us investing in right at the present.

I think hoefully we've still got a few years before ruck depth becomes a burning issue for us.

Not sure that Hannan is best 22 at the Dogs.

He'd be in the 18-30 player cohort...  and they have Ugle Hagen to fit in come 2022

I think Hannam is best 22 Ugle-Hagan is a tall he will probably have plenty of chances with Bruce out for a while but probably no room for him if Naughton and Bruce are both playing

Next year’s draft is supposed to be a tall draft so hopefully we can find a ruckman then

Reckon your side is pretty spot on, although Tomlinson will play lock down FB and May will take Hibberd's role on the dangerous mid size players.

Sparrow will likely be ahead of Dunstan too. To begin with...

It will be interesting to see who gets the gig Dunstan or Sparrow. You know what you get with Dunstan. Sparrow is still developing.

Well the Saints weren't happy with what they got and you'd have to be a very FICKLE Dees fan to drop Tom Sparrow on his GF form. Everything clean fudnt fumble and his disposals were great plus his kicking to our boys brilliant. Tackled well also.Developing nicely don't harm him mentally after his best game ever.

Not sure Tommo will walk in. Has done very strong competition and we don't want to go too tall. 3 talls are fine for Dogs and it's a good 3or 4 inc. Hibbo Hunty Joel Smith and if Tommo is recovered  he might be a chance but not the fourth tall for is not needed. Let Tommo get used to match play agsin and he will have his time.

Same with Dunstan great pick up but wait for his time also.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
