Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Superstar of the competition and if Matty Lloyd says he is the number 1 player in the AFL then thats good enough for me. Halfway to Greatness if he's not there already , Had a STELLAR year and an unbelievable finals series.😁🤩

What an absolute phenom Clarry is. Has the quickest and cleanest hands in tight that I've ever seen, has powerful acceleration out of the contest and now can add a pretty good kick to his arsenal. Set shots are pretty much the only area he can improve on.

Puts up absolute video-game numbers week after week and forms the most deadly 1-2 punch in the league with Trac, as seen in the finals series to devastating effect. The centre clearance stuff he can do makes other teams look second-rate. I hope the club can sign him to a similarly long-term deal as his mates Trac and Salo, he is a dead-set superstar and will continue to be for years.

Clayton Clarry Oliver, what an absolute star, we have loved you since you burst onto the field and that footage of you after kicking that 7th goal in the 3rd with your finger pointing skyward being chased by Dogga and Sparrow looked almost angelic but what a real demon you are. Clayton and his teammates soared to greater heights than even we expected.💕❤️💙

Clarry is a well oiled Machine

His career has yet to hit Top Gear.
He was very close to winning “The Norm”

His game over in Adelaide against The Crows this year was off the charts.
Will be a Multi Premiership Player

We must sign this man Long Term

People kept talking Clayton up about being a star before this season but I didn't really agree because yeah he got heaps of the footy but not all the time did he use it properly. His kicking was terrible, he'd handpass instead of kicking, he would waste the footy and do those stupid handballs.

But 2021 what a difference. He chose to kick instead and his kicking was accurate and he kicked more goals. He used the ball so much better and just looked a much better player.

As of 2020, he is the best midfielder I have ever seen a the Dees. A huge call I know, but I am very comfortable with it now. Now his kicking is a weapon (thanks Choco) he basically has no flaw in his game. Incredible hands, runs all day, is good in the air, is at full pace around stoppages and his breaking speed is ridiculous.

I remember a list of A graders being compiled a few years ago, and the Dees had none. This bloke is off the charts A+.

And that moment he kicked the final goal of the 3rd quarter in the GF: "Bang... bang, bang, bang" lives as my favourite in-game Dees moment. I have watched it a gazillion times already and there a few gazillion more to go.

(P.S. The lifting of the cup by Goody and Gawn is my greatest Dees moment but it was not in-game)

When somebody looks at Clayton's statistics over his career todate shows he is virtually elite in most categories.

He has 2 AA and Premiership medal to show for his body of work and this year he has increased his kicking disposal and has now included goals, he took on the responiblity of shadowing Bontempelli in the 2nd half of the 3rd quarter helping Petracca to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

If players like Clayton reach their peak at 25 then next year will be sensational.

Scary thing?

He's only 25 years 3 months old. And "hates losing".

With his much improved kicking he now hurts the opposition. Unlike many leesser accumulators like Mitchell and McCrae.

Importantly was a Goodwin project from day 1.

Whats even more scarier is he is only 24 years and 3 months old. Getting better all the time.....

Every time I see him kick that last goal in the third I well up and feel so proud that he's ours. He plays the game so cleanly, no cheap shots, no retaliation when he gets cleaned up, he just continues to demoralise the opposition.

Couldn't be any prouder and thanks Jason Taylor for bringing him to our club.

I like the story of roos sending goody up to Clayton 's home and meeting in the kitchen with him and parents.

Message was lose weight or don't bother coming down. He did and jason taylor delivered the outcome.

I love the way that Oliver has matured and developed over the years and can see that he is looking for ways to become even better. I also think that with Petracca in the middle they both benefit tremendously from playing along side each other. While both are incredibly talented players, they are both better when playing together.

Oliver has touch, awareness, strength and a competitive streak a mile wide.

That effort of his that Daisy pointed out where he still kicked the ball while being tackled by two players was as Bt said.....freakish.

While others have mentioned his improvement with his kicking and disposal in general, I've been even more impressed with his desire and effort to get back and support the defence. I remember hearing comments from the defenders during the season  lauding his willingness to get back and help. Whether it was to fill space, harass or take an intercepting mark. While on the subject of marking; this season was the most I had seen him taking grabs above his head. Long may it continue!

Has there been better at MFC ? Petracca an equal perhaps, however, Oliver adds to the Petracca glamour.

Both do things that other footballers can’t.

Robbie. He also could do things that others could not then or even today.

That he was a natural without the training and development of today's players is a measure of his greatness.

Clarrie and Trac deserve to be next in line.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
