Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Why?

He has the potential to be one of the top players in the comp in a couple of years, it would be madness on his part to sign a long term deal at his age despite how much I'd love to see it. I'd be happy with a couple of year extension for him and a long term deal for Clarry.

Whilst his preparation/professionalism is well documented on ‘land, there are signals he isn’t the most mature of fellas yet (club opposing him moving out from the Brayshaw residence an example).

Maybe he is being advised to not rush into a long term deal halfway across the country when he perhaps isn’t clear on what he wants long term? He is one of few who have  the luxury to grow up a little more and then make a decision

Yep and unfortunately those types are typically pretty indecisive people

Also how great is it seeing the reaction of the Families of Players and Draftees now compared to that POS ts and his family's reaction when he was drafted. They thought they were to good for us and their poo didn't stink. I wasn't as enthusiastic as most of you about Luke to start with but he's  seriously won me over in a big way and did it very quickly.

We keep a winning culture together and I think it will be an easy decision.

Never thought I'd say this, but while we're in the position we currently are, I'm bearly concerned about loosing quality players like LJ, because I doubt it will happen.  By the time LJ is demanding absolute top dollar and ruck time, I think Max will be around the point where he's ok with accepting lesser roles and dosh.  Let's face it Max has already immortalised himself in MFC / footy fofolklore.

I think we are at greater risk of loosing some of the quality B graders like Rivers, Jimmy Jordon and possibly the likes of Hunt, whom might rightly think they could be a bigger name and earning capasity at another club.  But when guys with some currency and capability like Melksham choose the option of slogging it out at the MFC over others where they might have greater opportunities, I think that says something.

Apparently Peter Bell contacted us to see if we'd be interested in trading him for their first round pick for the next ten years. You gotta admit, pick two every year is pretty inviting.

There is a fitness test involved. They need to see if Luke can roll his car in a suburban street on a Sunday morning.

He's had 20 years to grow up. What's keeping him?

Smoke and mirrors. He will sign 3-4 years. The one I am a little concerned about is Clarry only signing on for another 2. I have said it before I would have signed him on for the time that we signed Viney on for and signed Viney on for 2.

That's terrible.

No woman would ever rate a bloke higher based on how many opportunities she has to parade in front of cameras in a custom made dress.

If all the talk of culture, selflessness, playing for each other is true, then I think the core playing group (best 10-15 players) will do whatever is necessary to stick together to win more premierships- even it means restructuring deals (i.e. Maxy and TMac) to take under what they are worth.

Hopefully they also realise that the opportunity that MFC has right in front of them doesn't come around all to often for clubs let alone players and that they are immensely lucky to be part of this current generation.

Better than the other.

How would having him change our structure maybe for the worse given how it turned out?  He made his choice and I'm sure it more than a footy decision giving the stage of his career.

Back on Jackson; the trust put in him by the Club and his relationship with all the new WA boys would have a profound influence on him. He is never going to be "money bags". Scull dog may have got a big pay packet but what do you hear of him now? Meanwhile the Gawn legend grows and he will be a legend and have opportunities long after he stops playing. Jackson might be young but his mentors will be showing him what is possible. I just cannot see him as the go home type and so it would only be money and I cannot see that happening.

Wonder if hes put talks on hold again? Worrying silence on this, don't want it to be a distraction all year.

if he wants to leave, he wants to leave

not like we'll be getting a spare packet of chips for him

by the end of the 2022 season he could be a two-time premiership player

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
