Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Farewell Luke Jackson

If West Coast are interested and he want to go there I think it get done pretty easily.
As of round 15 they had picks 2,20 and 25.
Given that we will probably make a play for Brisbanes first round pick that could then come into play.
Would probably involve more than deal with several different clubs and LH has said future picks would prob be involved( our future first for one). But I think it would get over the line pretty easy.
If he decides to go and nominates Freo then that a whole different ball game.
Fingers crossed he decides to say and it’s not an issue.

What's the go there Colm? First I've heard about that. Intriguing.

Lions will probably get Ashcroft as F/S, touted to go pick 1-5 so will want to ditch their first round pick as Bulldogs and Pies did last year for Darcy and Daicos.

But we would have to trade out something/someone of equivalent first round value to get that whereas our 'natural first round pick, which we don't have is 'free'.

Not necessarily, we've been pretty good at identifying teams needing points for FS/academy selections and trading up the draft order by bundling picks. I know they've changed the rules on this recently but if we package picks 36 (at this stage) & 41 we may be able to move up.

Plus we don't know whether we'll get any compo if Gus decides to leave or a trade in a 2nd round pick if someone asks for a trade (say Hunt?)

Ah - why?

Because the AFL makes up the rules as they go (plus they have the ability to waive the rules if they deem fit). The AFL brought in the rule to stop teams mortgaging their future but Jackson is only in his 3rd season so giving up pick 2 or 3 for him when he was a pick 3 three years ago will be signed off easily.

They did a similar thing with the Hawks or Cats a few years back, signed off on them trading out a pick when they hadn't used enough in the 4 year period.

Twomey says the AFL would be likley to grant the exemption in the article, on the AFL website so I’d say you are correct.

Yep they are just a bunch of wall drawers disguised as sentence compositors. Media is on the nose at the moment, and their target is us. They need to break the chain and they don't care who they ruin. Fancy not attacking  Collingwood or Footscray  or Geelong or Twsnbn continuously, they deserve it.

We just have to stand firm and say very little.
i said years ago on here, we can become one of the Power Clubs in Australia, with the right people in charge. It takes time and onfield sustained success

The Media expect the MFC to fail….

Wonder if there is a Brisbane forum with a hot thread full of people worrying he won't nominate for F/S aha.

Got 51 touches the other week, magnet.

Not too sure about LJ having a girlfriend. I watched the That's Good For Footy link that someone placed on this thread and he said he'd never had a girlfriend 😪

Get this crap over with already. If he wants to go home, send him to Casey and bring in a replacement. Sick of this thread already.

He was [censored] poor tonight - not sure whether it was injury - or mental. But he will become a liability if he doesn’t sign.

Does nothing to send him to Casey. We want to keep him. So we play him. If we can rest Gawn towards the back end we will be well placed come finals. If Jackson can help us do that he is contributing to another premiership run.

My very strong mail, and it won’t come as any surprise, is that Jackson will be playing in WA next year.  The Club even offered to move his family to Melbourne recently and it was rejected.

If you're reporting this then yep clearly he's gone.

What are we're thinking in return?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
