Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

What’s your favourite GOAL from the Grand Final?

Sparrows one stepper from 50. Not for his goal so much but for Tommy Mac grabbing Cordy 5m from the goal line and pushing him back, back and finally giving him airtime 3m over the line. That show of force summed up what we did to the Bulldogs for the rest of the night

absolutely. Jordan Lewis remarked that those actions, when you’re having a quiet game, make all the difference. If TMac doesn’t overpower Cordy, then no goal and the clock runs out for 3/4 time.

i think it was TMac who got a  crucial hand into the marking contest that set up Trac’s brilliant dribbler.

Been mentioned a lot already but Clarry's goal might be the single most hype moment in MFC history.

The last of 3 goals within the last minute of the 3rd.

The visual of watching Jackson, Viney and Clarry stream towards goal unimpeded like a red and blue tidal wave.

The pinpoint handball from the future of the club, to the present.

The full-speed shot on goal that sails directly over the goal umpire's hat.

The slow-mo point from Clarry and the elation of Dogga and Sparrow trying to catch him - what an iconic piece of vision.

The burial of 57 years of history, and probably the apex of one of the most dominant periods in any football game.

And the cherry on top, the shot of Treloar and English in the centre square looking like they've been slapped across the face with a dead fish, unable to comprehend what the F is happening.

What an incredible moment from an incredible game.

lots of great goals in the gf but i would opt for clarries. not because it was the most spectacular or difficult but just because it was absolute perfection and exactly how any team would strife to score.

straight from the centre bounce, straight down the centre line and straight through the big sticks, all in seconds

efficiency and power ........ perfection

Kozzie on Dunkley .

If that didn't win Choco's one percenter for the day I' d be amazed

Add Kozzie's 2 tackles to spill the ball to Bowey who then passed to Brayshaw and we know the rest. Priceless harassment.

Kozzie's perfect pick up, evading tackle and then spot on pass to Fritsch on the boundary who then passed to the running machine Langdon and we known the rest.

At least three goals from great contributions from Kozzie.

Favourite - Sparrow

Important - Fritta 1st of the 3rd

Exciting - Fritta 2nd of the 3rd

Extraordinary - Tracca dribbler

Unbelievable - Brayshaw - only hit 2 targets by foot and this was one of them

Professional - TMc - last goal

Wtf - Gawn

For mine, 3rd quarter, Tom Sparrow’s huge kick from barely off a step. And his pumped-up celebration afterwards.

Oliver’s.

was the moment in the game, when I realised we would win.

Interesting you say that, I have posted elsewhere that kozzie did 3 defensive actions leading to Spargos first goal  , brayshaws goal and this goal. In the helter skelter of the 3rd quarter and google ads , I didnt  pickup kossies actions live . Only when I watched the replays did I pick it up.

I listened to footyolgy podacast with rohan and finey , last night . It was recorded live after the game. Finey made the observation ( and others did to ) that kozzie had a bad game  because he had 4 kicks only . I say kossies 2 efforts in the 3rd quarter led to 2 vital goals when the pressure was on . Every goal after the first 2 goals in last quarter was icing on the cake . The rubber band had broken , dees were pumped and doggies were gone mentally.

In fairness it is always challenging to see and value defensive efforts when watching on tv.

But, anyone who says kozzie had a poor game, doesn’t understand his role or value to the team.

Kozzy, well and truly did his job, despite what the stats sheet says

Oliver's goal was unbelievably.

I cannot believe that some on here are saying it was a great call.

It was atrocious. Imagine our international viewers listening to the garbage served up. Embarrassing.

And Olivers goal first.

Frittas launch and recovery second.

Trac third.

Who cares about international viewers? It's their great misfortune to not be in oz for our footy.

It's our game, our expressions and our premiership. After 57 years nothing can be over the top or embarrassing..

Fully agree - it was a beauty. It was also protected by TMac in the goal square at the goal line, the epitome of teamwork at its best. That kick nailed it - destroyed the Doggies' backs (who thought that it was covered for a tapped point score).

I am not sure where this started or where it's going but let's just  say that BT is worse than  either Harry Beitzal or Rex Hunt .

Commentators have use by dates even when start out as a fresh take on the game,.

We tire of them but the boys club keeps them until they go to jail or get sprung in a lane with their pants down.

But BT?

Commentates of pre prepared cheats sheets and still gets  most things wrong!

Daisy is on the boundary  to quietly clean up his crepe a minute or two later

I also believe Tmac did his role and Charlie all contributed. Hibbo similarly and all the defenders except Salo kept a tight rein on the Dogs forwards.
Figures for some defenders weren't high but hey we kept the Dogs dangerous forwards tightly undercontrol and the mids caused us a slight problem but overall 16 shots for goal and only 3.1 in the second half was match saving footy.

Nothing less than what our defence had done all year. Magnificent and elite with all contributing and Maysie proving he not only talks but he walks the walk very very competitively. A real hero's game with Naughton taking marks with all being well outside his distance. We other than our second quarter lapse played the game on our defences terms especially the first half of the third term. So much of the ball to the Dogs for so little result. Then we took or chances and bang bang bang.
Result 🏆❤️💙🍾

Salo was third or fourth best on ground and was magnificent with 96% disposal !!!

For me its the whole 3rd quarter, The bullies had given up in the last. But especially that 9 and half minutes, will stay with me,

And the look on their mids faces walking back to the centre.   What has happened !!

I dont think BT is up to it anymore.  Doing the GF is too long a day.  His last quarter call was just a mangle of broken sentences - he was shot.

Re two above-

Kozzie without a touch is still worth ten. He’s hard at it off the ball, and any defender around him is second and third guessing themselves when he’s around. Perceived pressure leads to hurried disposal, which leads to more pressure etc etc until the ball is turned over.
Flash was great at that. Sometimes he only had to be in the vicinity to cause trouble. Kozzie has the same gift

So we destroyed the Dogs AND BT. A fair day's work. Who knows what we could have achieved if the AFL hadn't stopped the game after 2 1/2 hours.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
