Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Winning a flag was always number 1 on the bucket list.
Got extra bonus points for the brilliant season and finals series it was.
We took on the best and destroyed them all.
Won both the Prelim and Grand Final with devastating displays of power football that will live on in our minds forever.

But dominating the competition for 10yrs has always been number 2 on the bucket list.
Lets tick that one off.

I have autism,  so some things I can get fixated on more than others.  This year from the first gws game I thought we would win it all.   I drove back from  Canberra to Albury with my son crying the whole way because I was so happy and excited about what might happen.   I have spent so many tears in the last two weeks.  Winning is such a relief.   I'm so happy I could burst.    I can stop now and give my partner  a bit of space.    It's hard to explain

No.  Check with me after the next one at the MCG.

I can see how people crave back to back flags.

In our case its fair due to the bulk of supporters who couldnt go to due to bloddy covid.

For me it hasnt decreased the joy of winning a flag in the slightest but it would be wonderful for most of us to see one in person.

Plus I could get used to this winning feeling,

I sat on the couch yesterday next to my wife, cracked a beer, and we had a good laugh talking about how we can start actually living a normal life now.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but feels like I’ve been on a journey since I was a kid waiting for this day, and now it’s come. There’s definitely the carrot of winning a premiership at the G though.

I’m wrapped for you mate! If I ever feel like I’m getting too fixated on the club I come to Demonland, and if often helps me realise that I’m not alone. The 2 weeks leading into the game took a toll on me too, and then to see the boys play so well was the greatest feeling.

Enjoy it. You earned it.

I honestly thought I would break down if we won but to be honest it felt like the biggest weight had been lifted off my shoulders. It was a huge relief. I am so happy but mostly just relieved now. It gives the club and its supporters authority.

The question is: now what? Only one flag from this group would be an underachievement. I want to see one on the MCG.

No, I want more. For too long I supported a club that no one hated because we weren't a threat. I want to support a club that teams fear to play against.

We are almost there, and if we smash our opposition early next season people will be shaking their heads as we come up in their schedule.

We won both the prelim and Grand final with awesome displays of power football while the rest of the competition sat there and watched.
If they didn't fear us before.
They will now.

I'm a big believer of the journey (before you judge me hear me out)

I believe that it's all about the people you meet, the places you go and the memories you create - which is something a lot of people apply to life - I apply it to following the Dees.

The team winning a grand final is a fantastic memory and I will always remember where I watched it and who i watched it with and the feeling of winning it, but I want more, I want to see one live. I want to wear the Melbourne colours with pride, walking out of the MCG as Premiers, high-fiving random Dees fans, yelling yahoos outside the ground and then the rest of the experience at the after match functions etc.  And I want all that with my kids too.

This is not over.

Agree with much of the sentiment here.

In many ways I am fulfilled and I wouldn't have wanted this year to pan out any other way - it was glorious to watch. But not being able to go crazy in the streets of Melbourne and soak it up is disappointing. Hopefully we'll get to relive it at the G before next season. That will definitely help.

And while I am fulfilled, the team has the chance to keep winning over the next few years, so my minimum requirement is that they stay focused, keep the hunger and play footy that we all can enjoy for a while yet. Is my MFCSS cured? Maybe, maybe. We'll see.

Many neutral supporters commented on the attractive style of football both teams played - so here's hoping the rivalry continues. The style is a far cry from the horrible 'flooding' of the 2005 Swans flag. That was a bad patch for the AFL. Don't get me wrong, they were an impressive team, but urgh. We owe a lot to Roos and his defence first mentality, of course, but it's not the best spectacle.

To all those people that said I wouldn't see a demon flag in my life time, get [censored]. Starting round 1 next year the flag means nothing then, i hope the players play next year like they have achieve nothing, 1 flag means nothing unless you win another in the next 2 seasons.

It didn't decrease the joy of winning at all, but it didn't have the partying that goes along with it, and I look forward to doing that next year.

You were right all along Fork

Well played

That 3rd Quarter should set the bar for this Club for decades. That is the Standard to expect and aspire too

I hope the Boys Party Hard, they deserve that, and then come back ready to defend Top Spot

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
