Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I don’t know why, but this has really hit home for me.

I’ve been posting on here (mostly garbage) since 2005 and my life has changed a lot in that time but Demonland has been a constant throughout.

While most of us are stuck in our homes it has more than been the football community we all need, so thank you @Demonlandfor giving us nuffies somewhere to vent and connect with fellow Melbourne fans.

You’re not alone there CB.

I signed up in ‘08 to keep a link to footy and the Dees while living in London. Man what a ride it’s been. I hope a heap who had jumped off the Dees over the years have been lurking on here again and do come back to post in the excitement of today (not Rangey…).

In '88 & 2000 we were all hoping the earth would open up & swallow our opponents.

Since the late seventies, where my memories begin being driven up Nepean hwy in dad's car, there's never been an expectation, for such a complete team, within a country mile of this. Many of us have waited far too long. Both these facts have turned my guts into a front load washing machine.

Our time has come. Rain all Hell!

The last two weeks might have dragged but in reality this season has flown by in these difficult times for a lot of people. It’s extremely difficult not to think about the result later on tonight and there’s a touch of sadness that this is the final game of the year already.

Only because if you take a few deep breaths and just appreciate how good the club has been this season and the joy they’ve given us the last 6 months you might realise you don’t want this feeling to end. Extremely proud of everyone involved at the MFC on their efforts to make a lifelong dream come true by bringing the Cup back home. They’ve given themselves every possible chance to achieve this dream and I believe they are very capable of handling the occasion to make this a reality.

Believe!

After a lifetime of nerves and screaming at the television, I've felt an odd detachment for most of this year, calmly watching each match with the occasional quiet fist pump here and there. Even round 23 failed to launch me off the couch as it would have in the past. I have wondered if maybe I had run out of emotional puff, right as the club was coming good.

But no, it's the confidence I have in the coaches and team, like a proud parent having done their job through the multitude of challenges and finally sending their offspring out into the world. Today is graduation day, and I don't feel nervous at all. I'm not even all that concerned if we lose, as I know we have built such a solid team with another gear yet to come.

That feeling may change closer to kick-off. I'm hoping Gawny will give us another knowing smile during the anthem, and then I'll know we're ready to roll. I'm also hoping that if we do happen to succumb to the occasion, then Demonland will be a place for shared disappointment and a celebration for what we have achieved - rather than anger and reprisals.

Good luck everyone, with my thoughts especially going out to those enduring lock-down and unable to enjoy the game with extended family and friends. In a way, the isolation itself will be a unique shared experience among many supporters, unlikely to be repeated again, and another special chapter in the storied history of the Melbourne Football Club.

One final, and emphatic, Go Dees!

LOL!!  It looks like @bingersand a few others were hanging out for the clock to strike midnight to start this thread!

This will be the 'Mother' of all game day threads.

Win or lose we will all probably shed a tear or two.  At least we know that out in lockdown land, there are tens of thousands of others doing the same.

Enjoy whatever the day and night brings, fellow demon lovers!

I’ve lots of posts/articles about

Who tags Libba.

Do we tag Daniel.

Who goes to Smith.

The Dogs are going to target Max, how will we respond.

I read a comment from Jake Lever during the week where he said we’ve discussed what the Bulldog’s will try and we’re ready to counteract it.

I think the Dogs have more to worry about than we do.

Already done some shed tidying, fixed a hose connection, hung balloons, sprinkler on lawn. Off to Ballina for a lap of Bunnings, fish shop, couch shopping, home to put more streamers out, go for a ride, home, mow, more shed tidying, plant some trees, set up slip and slide for kids, crack a Heineken, do some push-ups. Should get me to 2pm.

Thanks to everyone on Demonland and best wishes to you all.

After all the analysis and articles I've immersed myself into this week, I reckon we've got this if we do one thing well.

KICK STRAIGHT!

I'm sure we'll deliver on every other element Of our game today, but we must convert our opportunities. I think it's going to be a close one.

We can do it. Enjoy demonlanders.

Well good morning Deelanders !!!!!   It's finally here !!! DEEDAY!

Certainly lots of early risers ! From reading above it seems there were quite a few pre game festivities ! Well done \.

A rather earlier night at The Manor.

I'm relaxed ! I'm confident !!

I realize you shouldn't say such things but Big Max will be holding the cup tonight ! I can just feel it in my water.

The Doggies have proven themselves a good side - no doubt about that. But we've  got them covered and more in every department of the game. Furthermore, I can  see it ending in a blowout.

DEESTINY !

The maid will be wearing her Demons scarf all day.

Gameday. Finally

Feeling calm and confident. Ever since that Rd23 comeback I’ve felt we’re destined. The boys look primed, have a laser focus. Maxy has an aura about him. He’s been a colossus for us.

We are favorites and rightfully so. I have absolute faith that we will deliver a performance. I think our contest work, ferocious pressure and defensive system will win the day. The doggies have to adjust to combat us whereas we just need to play our game. All the talk of out of the box tactical moves by Beveridge betrays this fact.

To all you lucky Dees fans in Perth I want you to lift the roof off Optus. Be the extra man, will our boys over the line.

I predict a 35 point win, the Norm Smith for Maxy and delirious post game celebrations

Go Dees

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
