Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Was always going to be hard to drop anyone after such a dominating  PF performance and no injuries of note. Hunt will be disappointed but he’s had too much time off recuperating for the biggest game in decades. Smith is still just too fragile for consistent appearances.

Consistent selection policy all season. Good to see.

Jordon the medi sub?

........ and very hard to change a team that won a Prelim by 83 points at its last outing.  GO DEES!

Sparrow v Jordan has been an interesting one all year. Very much like for like.

I think Sparrow is more a goal scorer and gives more physicality than Jordan

Feel sorry for Hunt but happy for Hibberd.

Smith not even named emergency. Jordon or Hunt as the medi sub? I'm going with Jordon, Hunt has been out for too long.

No surprise but i'd make Hunt the Medi sub,he can play forward/back,never been a Jordan fan,he butchers it too much and the pressure will be off the charts

Happy Hibbo retained,he'll tag Smith.

My heart breaks for Hunt. Plays 20 games, does his ankle, gets back up and misses the grand final. Very tough. I suppose he might still be the sub but time will tell. I think they’ll go with a mid as a sub so JJ it is.

Absolutely, he has worked his backside off to become a regular again. He’s our hard luck story, every GF side has one.

Really seems like the whole squad is invested in this and despite his bad luck, Hunty would be stoked to have been a part of the year and the 20 odd games that got us here.

Hope it drives him and he continues on again for 2022

Am I right in saying Matty Whelan missed our 2000 grand final as a late withdrawal? As you say every year there’s a hard luck story, this is why the calls for a squad wide recognition is absolutely fair. He contributed strongly to us getting to this point even if he won’t take the park on the day.

Well done to all, fingers crossed Spargy and May are completely good to go. Am I right in saying it was Kade Chandler that did the tackle last Saturday? Cheeky him being on the bench.

Melbourne has played 6 finals during Hunt’s career. He has played none, despite playing 26 of a possible 44 games during those finals years.

I would be very frustrated if I were him.

Think Hunt as a sub give me more comfort

Fast, and swingman potential

Love his speed and all things equal hell yes,..... but seven weeks out is too big a risk and i reckon the reason why.

Nathan Jones as well in terms of sad omissions and while not a fan ....Melksham has played quite a few but not there at the end. Smith a shocking run of injuries may have made it.

So difficult with so many good recent wins, and about 26 players who are GF ready. I would probably go Hunt for the medical sub because he can help out on any line - forward, midfield or back. But the selection committee mantra has been to follow a line of form and fitness so fully understand the no change.

DEE-RUBBING by George on the Outer

For the second week in a row, the Demons had to endure some particularly oppressive match conditions — this time, playing in 30 degree temperatures at the MCG, following the humid sticky Sydney atmosphere of last week.   The warmer conditions didn’t seem to worry the Dee’s since the ball was so much easier to handle, and handle it with surety they did in handing out a 45 point drubbing to the much fancied Western Bulldogs.   After a slow start that saw the Dogs out to

CROSSING THE PICKETT LINE by The Oracle

Melbourne’s performance in losing its Round Zero contest in Sydney has certainly caused the club, the coach and the players to come firmly under the watchful eye of the football world and exposed all of its aspects to a microscopic lens.   Much of the commentary surrounding them has been less than complimentary and, while some might argue that this is unfair after only one round, leaving aside some of the scuttlebutt that surrounds a lot of the discussion around the game, a fair amoun
