Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Todays defeat at the hands of the young Hawks at our beloved MCG has once again highlighted the amount of passengers we carry on our list.

First off lets reinforce Danihers inability to coach. Why isn't White thrown forward in matches for longer than 5 minutes when the games over. And the selection committee have to blood new blokes instead of muppets like Godfrey, Wheatley and to a lesser extent Nathan Brown.

Cameron Bruce: Can show glimpses of quality but our Rolls Royce continues to get soft possessions out wide on the wing and needs to kick more goals and add toughness to his game.

Brad Green: how long will we carry Greeny. so promising in his early years but hasn't done much since been thrown in the midfield. goes quiet and can be very soft at times... No longer seems to have his deadly kick.

Travis Johnstone: so lazy, can show glimpses but needs to make it to more packs around the ground and get over been tagged. You are an easy target TJ because you have long hair and haven't put weight on since your first year... A girl could beat you up.

Matthew Whelan: Where's the form you showed a couple years back. you are our only answer for opposition forwards. LIFT

Robbo: you could take so many more marks if you didn't try and chest mark everything. Get the dukes out so the defender cant spoil you. And stop watching vision of Lloyd, you fall to ground far too much and allow the opposition to run in out too easy.

Neita: Put the bloke in the goal square and let him have his way with the defender. He wins one on ones as much as any forward going around. He will kisck 60-80 goals every year if fit and played right.

Flash Davey: You get frustrated way to easy and have to learn when your having a bad day, putting cheap shots on the opposition is not the answer. You can lift the team with one act of brilliants.

Daniel Bell: Did i once see you run second to Delidio in a GF sprint. You are quick... Back yourself to carry the ball and run run run.

Yze: Well done on dropping yourself. However kick the ball long like you use too. use your skills to the full. Stop dicking about.

Chris Johnson: You are soft. Need to learn that running along the boundary line where you spent most of your time today is the not the place to find the footy. I thought you were going to be our Gilbee and you have showed nothing.

Good efforts to Ward, Rivers and Carrol and Miller to a lesser degree, you continue to try hard but lack some help from senior members..

Batey had a downer today but can play, McLean is a star and a professional, Sylvia is the missing link in midfield if ever can play and Bartram is overrated...

Stop playing Wheatley and Brown. Let them play their last years of their contracts for Sandy.

Overall the Demons have too many passengers and are professional enough. Lets model ourselves on Sydney, they have a good list and an excellent coach and play as a team. We have a good list, crap coach and play like crap... we lack depth and when injuries occur to senior players out match committee continue to bring morons in to cover the void.

what happened to our tackling. Last year we were awesome or was that just another one year wonder?

Im a passionate Melbourne supporter but why to i keep buying my membership when the same signs are there every year. Whats the point of finishing 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th and getting booted out of the finals early. We might as well do a Hawthorn and be a submarine. Lets spend some time on the bottom and see if we can pick up some professional, tough footballers.

What do you guys think about the above statements. I'd love to hear from you.

I think likewise 'Nicho', & reading your comments made me think that the preparedness to accept this same stuff year in / year out must start with the board. They need to start swingin' the boot into a few rumps.

Mate I agree with you and my posts ask the same questions about firstly Daniher needs to go 10yrs & the mental tougness issue raises its ugly head. Our so called leaders go missing. Need to make tough decisons cause this current list will not win a flag!

I honestly think that this is the year of reckoning for more than just Danners at the club.......I really don't see a lot of light at the end of the tunnel this season.....and yes I know we are only two games in.

If we have a change in coach, I would expect some pretty critical assessment of where the list is at.......and with previous reputations not so critical to a new coach, non performing players will be moved on!

We don't need a clean out, and we have some real positives at the club at present, but we definitely need some fine tuning to certain areas!

hahah coming from our former full back!

I can honestly say i am not related to that nicho.

i would like the think he will enjoy the rest of his days. Recruiting ex hockey goalkeepers to play full back for the demons is and indication their are some serious morons in charge of our Demons.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
