Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Which Bulldogs players do you consider to be “tough” or play with a bit of “mongrel”?

Conversely, which of the Dees are tough?  Trying to establish which team has mongrel advantage.  I reckon the 2016 Bulldogs were far tougher than the 2021 version.

This is a point I've even seen a bulldogs supporter raise. No Stringer, Picken, Morris in the current version of the dogs

Stuff mongrel.

If we win contested ball and post clearances we win this game.

So thec questions should be

which team is physically stronger?

Which team is apply more physical pressure?

The answer to both is the dees.

We'll monster them

What got me was Wallis I'm sure retired after that GF so he couldn't care less how many games he was suspended for. Sheedy would have known and thuggery was a tactic. I hope its not used on Maxy on Saturday.

Maxy is not brad green build

This is going to be the case, most likely, but it will leave the Doggies terribly pre-occupied, all game and that will weaken what is left to make real progress in the game - as we have a huge talent base outside of our core of best players.

Start Jacko on the ball and Max forward Really [censored] them up!!!

I too am interested who they dogs actually have to get "physical" with Max.  It's not as if they have Barry Hall or Byron Pickett running around for them.  Reckon Max would just laugh at most of them and trot off to the next contest.  If Stef Martin tries it, Steven May can politely remind him what happened last time he lined him up.

I don't think they'll bother tbh, they'll just back their system.

Don’t think the throat is dependant on build. If I remember correctly, Wallis smashed Green in the throat and sent him to hospital with a fractured larynx. No doubt Sheedy orchestrated it. He then in another game wrongly accused an Eagle of sniping his player and made the throat cut sign with his hand and was fined by the AFL.

There have been no dirty hits in recent years in GF’s just a few suspect tackles.

I don't think they're a tough side at all, all this talk could be a suck in to get us to play the man. If we have to fly the flag fair enough, otherwise concentrate our attack on the ball and tackle hard and often.

I wouldn't mind if one of our defenders gets into Naughton's path occasionally in a manner that he can't flop around 'begging' for a blocking free.  Or May put a bit of side ways body contact on him before he takes his leap/takes a run.

I'm expecting their staging exaggeration to be at an all time high, especially Hunter and Weightman.  Both very good at throwing the head back for a 'high' free and leaning back into their opp as if being held, especially when they know they can't get to the ball!  Not to mention others who drop the ball before being tackled and get a 'holding' free.  They know all the tricks and will exploit them.

Petty could cover this guy.

I think he's a super talent but he has no number 2 and if we can nullify this guy then I can't see Dogs kicking a big score.

They have some handy small forwards but Weightman can be contained and so can Hannan.

Naughton and Schache and English to go forward to stretch our defence. Dogs will see our matchups as May on English, Petty on Naughton … then Dogs will try to use Schache to make Lever accountable.

I don't mind Schache on Lever.  It won't be the same as on Allir Allir.

From the PF it looked like Allir Allir took most of his intercepts deep in defence.  This made it easier for Schache keep him accountable while blocking for Naughton.

Lever takes most of his intercepts 35 - 50m from goal.  Schache will have to do a bit of running if he is going to keep up with Lever!!

Of course we need to put pressure on the ball carrier to not allow delivery deep into their fwd 50.

Tommy Mac is playing a vital role for the team as well.  Forget the stats, Goodwin would just want more of the same

Playing in front on nearly every occasion and attracting a 2nd defender and sometimes even a 3rd defender, he's bringing the ball to ground for our small blokes ... so he's doing his job admirably.  A lot of bullocking work is often not noticed

The rest of it is up to our small forwards.

And the marks will eventually fall Tom's way ... perseverance and a strong work ethic is rewarded in time

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
