Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I know they call soccer the beautiful game but that was beauty in chaos like you will rarely see.

One of my friends texted during the 3rd quarter:  it was beautiful to watch, like dancing on the field. when our players were carrying the ball with overlap play.

Couldn't have been choreographed better.  It was beautiful and mesmerising.

Scanning will tell the story. Not to get too complicated, but the way it happened, by landing on his straightened leg, thus compressive force transferring up to his Lumbar facet joints, which can absolutely refer pain to the posterior thigh thus tightening the hamstring as a reaction, it’s entirely possible his back is the cause. This would be fantastic, because 2 weeks is ample to rest, loosen, stretch and away he goes. The ‘typical’ hammy is a running injury, accelerating or decelerating, resultant from a wicked conspiracy of length and tension, thus a tear. If May’s is a tear, it’s ‘grade one’, scan will reveal it and he’s a no go, because 3 weeks minimum. The cruel thing is he‘ll likely feel fine by the GF, even be up to full sprint. The problem is that the risk of re-tear under 3 weeks is very high, particularly in a game situation - fatigue combined with ballistic, accelerating take-offs and speed contrasts. The scan will tell all. All Demonland fingers crossed please.

If last night was played in the snow we wouldn't have left footprints!

Time to delete the “is Goodwin the right guy” thread. He had a clear vision of the game style he wanted us to play and stuck to it. Last night his vision was on full display

Just woke up after a big night. It was a completely dominant performance. The atmosphere and support was amazing. Felt like 20,000 Melbourne supporters sneaked over the border. Still at a loss for words. Now to sort out unfinished business.

Thanks for this insightful comment.

I’m curious as to whether the risk of a re-tear (should it reveal itself as one) is a risk that May and the club will take.

Lets be honest most of us are one eyed red and blue supporters.

In 2000 we dreamt of what could be as we did three years ago.

Both were misguided.

In 2000  we met an incredibly talented dons team and in 2018 while our two finals efforts were great it was always a long shot against eagles at home.

But this year after being minor premiers, smashing lions and cats we must be faves and thus our best chance in over fifty years to win a flag.

My goodness.

Im elated just making it. It must be euphoric to actually win one.

No expert by any means but that was my take, it wasn't a running injury as is normal with hamstrings but the way he landed, fingers crossed

Couple of issues. The risk is very high. Grand Final speed and intensity makes that more likely. If the choice of medical sub was taking this into account, I guess that’s something, but what if a midfielder then goes down? The other issue is long term hammy issues with an aggravated tear. As wisdom has it, don’t play injured players. I remember watching Phil Davis play in GWS’ GF, with his NQR lower leg issue, and it was horrible. Bad decision.

I wonder if our round 23 comeback had any part in our win yesterday.

It fuelled our confidence and no doubt gave them concern if they could really win.

Was great to see us toying with them in the third quarter.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
