Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

PJ for Full Forward against Geelong

Comrades, I was there today, and i agreed beforehand with Whispering Jack - a truck was coming, and we were the ones in the middle of the road.

Neitz will be out for a while. Newton has yet to play a game. It is time to play PJ at FF next week.

But he is a quick fix and u can rotate all three ruckmen around: one FF, one Ruck and one bench.

Also bring in Dunn (if ready) for support even though i dont like the idea of Millar and Dunn in the same side we need them

Well apperantly Neita could be out for 3 weeks or more, and Robbo couldn't even walk into the rooms, so PJ may come in by default.

mmm they were saying robbo was ok...thats y they bought him on. guess its tender now. I trust larkins but will reevaluate mid week the injuries

PJ is a better option down forward than Jamar, more mobile and has played there most of his time as a junior and at West Coast. He can fill in the ruck role just as well as Jamar who only managed 9 hit outs today, against ruckmen who are average compared to the rest of the competition.

Jaded, I never said that PJ was a holistic solution to our multi-tiered woes. But we have a specific vacancy to fill, and I have nominated a candidate.

Ch. 7 news just said Robbo couldn't walk into the rooms, he was in that much pain.

He was running up and down the boundry trying to recover, why the hell did they bring him on with 5 minutes to go, when the game was gone anyways? He hurt it again as soon as he came on.

Stupidty from everyone involved!

If only Juice had had the ripper he was due against the cats he'd be the guy we'd look to. With his skill set, he's the kind of player that is capable of kicking 4 in a quarter, especially given he'd get the 3rd worst defender.

I would think Clint Bizzell would be closer to selection than PJ. He did play FF at geelong before he was made into a backman at the MFC.

Bizz and Newton are smokies for FF next week.

PJ is not an automatic choice. He might get the gig, there will be 4-5 players that will be in line for FF. A smokie might be the go to throw a very strong cats outfit offguard

Wrathchild, respectfully, the Bizz did not cut it at FF at Geelong. Whatever his place might be, he is no spearhead.

I have been wrong on many occasions. The same, yes, could be said of Yze Magic re some of his extravagant predictions. But both of us have faith in PJ. He showed enough in the most important game of 2006 to be given another try.

I'd love Newton to come in. It'd be our debutant against theirs (sort of). Wouldn't it be awesome if Carroll/Holland smashed Tomahawk and Newton got their 3rd best forward and kicks 4 in the first quarter!!!

I can hear it already...

I'd like to see PJ play CHF. Reason being he's not good at marking with his hands outstretched, either on the lead or overhead, so I wouldn't play him F/F. But he is capable of marking on his chest & gathering the groung ball cleanly, he's fast enough & mobile to be a contesting target at the key post & can chase & ruck the boundary.

Fergy's one who hasn't been mentioned as a forward option yet. He's had stints there with Sandy and shown a bit.

Dutchy's another option to come back in and play up front. I'd take these two over PJ in attack.

Bate's another one to consider. He did some of his best work at TAC Cup level playing FF.

Interesting times ahead.

If Davey was injured I'd consider PJ. I wouldn't consider him to fill a KP.

He's a 6"6 small forward.

We are definitely lacking at ground level in our forwardline.

I can't remember one crumbed goal we've had this season.

For that reason alone I'd bring in PJ as he is pretty good at ground level.

Dutchy will come in to cover Ottens or King.

Ferguson is not a forward, he doesn't have the smarts to know where to lead and he isn't very strong one-on-one.

If that's the options we have, I rather we bring in someone raw like Newton, who may end up doing nothing in the short term, but who at least will give us some insight into our future.

If Dunn has recovered from the operation, bring him back too. If he's not 100% match fit, play him out of the square all game where he doesn't have to do a lot of running.

PJ should not be given a role as a forward until he learns to mark overhead. It's a pretty basic skill for a guy his height playing football.

I agree.... PJ almost cost Sandy the game on Saturday. He doesn't deserve a spot in the team.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
