Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

On behalf of Fritsch, I take exception to this comment.

Bailey's head has the best hair in the AFl and is in no way punchable.

I'ver personally copped some arrogant condescending remarks from too many Cats supporters over the past decade. Revenge is sweet, they'll be crying into their handbags now.

(never mind that it's a photo of a beach bag...you get the drift)

I just watched the replay, and decided at one point to watch the Cats rather than the Dees. Very difficult, but I just wanted to understand how so many really quality players could play so poorly.

They were atrocious. I mean MFC Mark Neeld bad. Dangerfield was very good, and at least Selwood was getting to contests and gut running. But the rest of the team were as bad defensively as Gold Coast at their worst. In particular:

  • Giving Kozzie so much room on so many occasions - he ran through forward stoppages unmanned time after time after time.
  • Very rare for them to put a third man up to spoil our marking forwards.
  • Sparrow so often left unmarked, unchecked running through stoppages and around the ground like a 19th player.
  • Total lack of defensive pressure around stoppages. How many time did Trac and Clarry run forward of a stoppage with no-one within 3 metres?
  • Why didn't they tell Stanley of Esava to run with Gawn? Ridiculous game awareness.
  • And you know that modern thing when a player disposes of the ball and then gets run into so he can't get to the next play? They rarely did it. Viney ran to contest after contest with no-one checking his run.
  • And that marking "contest" between Langdon and Menegola in the last quarter - total embarrassment for Menegola. Summed up Geelong on the night.

They have more than age to worry about if guns like Selwood and Dangerfield can play so well and the rest of the team can't fire up.

Yes Kudos to Dangerfield, he gave it absolutely everything.
He must be filthy on so many of his teammates

My most concerning point from your post is it seems you have only watched the replay once.

Replay once.

3rd quarter twice

Geelong focus once. I think I need a break from it now.

I know some will have different opinions on cat supporters but reading their forum on bigfooty they've taken the defeat with grace.

This comment stood out to me.

We’ve just been beaten by the team that will probably win the next 2 or 3 flags so can’t be too upset.

We are now being respected by opposition supporters.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere

Seriously, where do they go now?  Rebuild from the draft (finishing 3rd or 4th)?  Surely no more “topping up”.  How long will Selwood be able to go on with his cheating ducking and throwing?  Dangerfield? Hawkins? Cameron? Rowan?

Yep, most of them on BF are respectful.

There are some though that insult us, though that would be the same for any other club. The thing is, the insult that we're copping (we tanked and/or got gifted draft picks to spark our ascent up the ladder) is just not true.

We don't have any of our high draft picks from 2007-09 playing in this side. We barely have anyone from that area playing in this side. And a fair stack of the players we have in our side have come to the club in the last three years (i.e. when we've been building our list like a professional sports club), and/or been selected in in Rounds 2+ in the draft, and/or been traded in (again, smart list development).

People who attack us for anything tanking/draft pick related are just numpties.

Old Lingy shouldn’t trust anyone from Geelong ever again, the story about his leasing the Cunningham Pier from The golden boy Frank Costa is brutal. He had to sell the house to cover his debts.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you his observations from this morning's Captain's Run including some hints at the changes for our ANZAC Eve clash against the Tigers. Sunny, though a touch windy, this morning, 23 of them no emergencies.  Forwards out first. Harrison Petty, JvR, Jack Billings, Kade Chandler, Kozzy, Bayley Fritsch, and coach Stafford.  The backs join them, Steven May, Jake Lever, Woey, Judd McVee, Blake Howes, Tom McDonald

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
