Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jeelong looked terrible tonight in their grandfinal. It was very fortunate they were only playing an injury riddled (yet still [censored]) version of GWS.

The umpires had their Toby Greene revenge game too which assisted the Cats.

Dangerfield & Selwood only combined for 34 touches - they're cooked.

Dees by 40 odd if we're inaccurate, which the chance of a 10+ goal win if we've got the kicking boots on.

Not gonna lie, the nerves have kicked in already. Geelong have given us some of our worst moments in history and I’m not sure I could stomach us missing out on a grand final to them.

Not worried, Geelong were average tonight.

If we cant beat them comfortably (4-5 goals) then we wont win the flag.

Very true.
Coz we wouldn’t be in the Grand Final

Wow talk about MFCSS to the max. We’ve all wanted to see our boys go deep in September, and when the moment arrives some just completely drop their bundle.

These are the moments to enjoy, not be anxious about. I’m pumped and will be for the next 7 days. We are up our eyeballs in it this year.

Comrades............Dees.............BELIEVE

Definitely a huge worry game for me.

Last time they didn't have Touhy, Duncan and Rata.

Joel Smith will stay now especially Big sav down there. Bowey for me is still the vulnerable one down back. I said Hibbo last week but if Jayden Hunt is ready then I'd bring him to give us some speed out of the back half.

Our defence and mids have to be really switched on from get go.

Parfitt out now.

Rata holding his spot is advantage us.

You do realise Ratugolea was dropped to play us in Rnd23. All our defenders will need to do next week is not get out marked (which they’re pretty damn good at). There’s no Charlie Camerons, or Zac Butters, or Fantasias, or Weightmans running around. We have a faster spreading and superior midfield… and they’re also still missing their best defender who glues it all together.

If we can’t win next Friday, then we’re clearly not ready yet.

Like the rest of you, my MFCSS is absolutely raging but I’m trying to think logically and take in some of the commentary I’ve seen from neutral supporters.

Of course I do..

But they'll leave him into to try and keep Lever accountable.

Agree the only teams that worries me is Port Adelaide.

Unless Geelong have the benefit of 3 extra players on the field next week im pretty confident of sending them back to Corio.

Watching depleted Giants come off you got an appreciation for how young and string-bean they are, with camera at eyeline level.

Like us against Westcoke in you know when.

I cannot stand Jeelong nor their silver service umpiring - can't wait for next week - it's kill time!!

Can't imagine our younger Dangerwood equivalent in Oliver and Trac having almost zero impact and under 15 touches apiece to 3/4 time, despite any tagging efforts, and against what was pretty average opposition. Fully aware that they established a 44-point break on us only a couple weeks ago, but they seriously look like a spent force. Throw in Viney, and we already put those experienced blokes to the sword with pressure and run in a final a couple years ago, and we're developed a much better team since then while they've only got older. Sure, they have a threatening forward mix, but we'll hold our own if it's the same forward entry as tonight. Can't see it as anything but a cake-walk, unless Scott comes up with some serious means of disruption - but they haven't shown much inclination to adjust in the way they want to play, with their method feeding directly into our strengths.

We need to be focused for this one.

Geelong are a proud team, and they will not want to drop a third match to us this year. They have a much stronger team with Tuohy and Duncan back.

While I agree that it’s Chris Scott spin to say that they had control all night until the last quarter, they are the only team to get a hold of us and get a run on for that 20 minutes. We may have circumvented that in the last quarter, but it shouldn’t be forgotten.

If we can prevail again, I’ll feel relatively confident moving into GF week. But we need to be focused, cohesive and skillful to win. Take Geelong lightly at your peril.

With respect to the last home& away game. We only have to deal with not dropping our guard for 20mins. Geelong have to work out how to counter how we controlled them for 100mins.
Keep your energy up, see us walking away easy winners, don’t drop into the past. Believe! Go Dees

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
