Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Irrespective of how bad some of those results were never like to see our "supporters" verbally abuse players leaving the ground

Dismal days on so many levels hopefully we don't see them again

This current team has so much more ability and are supported by a very capable coaching group all of whom seem to me at least to know what they want and how to get there

Yes we can dare to dream I will be overwhelmingly happy for the players if they can win the flag but also a little sad that me and so many more long suffering supporters will not be there to share it with them

It all started with PJ, Glenn Bartlett then Roosy and our cultural shock learning to play hard tough footy and how to pick winners at the draft via JT and team. It has been a seven year journey and are we ready, 2018 was a taste of things to come but we learnt tough love, resilience and team first principles that will buoy us through the good and better times ahead.

It's a cruel joke, regardless of flag or no flag this year, that we cannot experience this together nor roar them home.

A cruel joke as it's taken dark decades to get here & a seemingly lifetime of dreary Sunday's shuffling home from a loss all hang-dog.

Tracc's words & emotions nailed it for me.

Bring on the new season & give 'em hell.

That was my main take away from the video too tbh. Mostly middle aged angry men yelling abuse at a bunch of 20-something young blokes. Pretty pathetic.

There is an old saying "you need fire and heat to make the best steel".

The win on the weekend there was fire and heat, the players dug deep and eventually won.

No matter what the victory was impressive and maybe this was the catalyst they need to believe they can go all the way.

The Demons of the late 1930's, 1948, 1950's and 1964 all had the belief that anything is possible if you play as a team and are disiplined enough as a group the premierships will come.

Hopefully this group have that belief and I think the weekend showed they are a group that can go all the way but last week is over and they must not dwell in the past and grab the opportunity that has presented it self to this group.

They need 3 more wins to make this group a MFC immortal and the start of a dynasty where premierships are the norm not the exception.

The age of this team is very young but very talented.

Didn't know where else to post this, so here it is, from yesterday's Hun (apologies if someone else found somewhere else for it).

Apart from Suns and North (LOL...) what's wrong with this picture?

Someone's missed the Zeitgeist!

I reckon a lot of those idiots were Essendon supporters tbh. Can see a lot of people with Essendon colours and no colours.

OMG. Did you make this? It’s so good. Insanely good. Great choice and placement of music, too. Rage Against The Machine and at the end, Johnny Cash’s Nine Inch Nails cover. Perfect.
Please, please post it again if/when you update it. And thank you. Coz since Saturday night  it’s been like a good 3-4 hours since I last cried for this club and I felt something was amiss. 😊

It may have been Melbourne 'supporters' abusing (i.e. I heartily agree with you, Syd!) but I can assure you at least one person in those scenes was very generously not doing so.

Such surprises are possible: I was at that game with a great, diehard Essendon-supporter mate, sitting not far from the race. Of his own volition - possibly in solidarity with me, but he also has a soft spot for Melbourne - he went over to the fence and let forth with loud and expressive 'C'mon Dees' supportive urgings. He was most embarrassed to be splashed across the following day's papers seemingly as one of the abusers!

The Club will have to organise a Function/Family/Sunday after the Day style function for 20/25,000 fans when Covid allows to celebrate with the players.

Maybe  a Premiership Dinner as well for the upper market experience etc. to keep the pot boiling!!!

A lot of the footage in that video belongs in The Rinsing of the Demons thread. It's hard to believe it's the same club to be honest. We were a complete and utter rabble from top to bottom.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
