Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I want the dogs to win, as I know we can beat them and they are down on form.

And

I HATE the bombers!!!!

If we lose a final, that will be bad enough, but if we lost to the Bombers, I would be so so so so shattered and angry!

Agreed Yokozuna, definitely hoping for a Bulldogs win on the weekend.🤞🤞 But if by chance the bombers happen to unexpectedly  win a couple of finals, I would gladly welcome the chance and opportunity for the Melbourne Football Club to completely bastardise essendon during a preliminary final. Young and inexperienced team gets on a roll and wins a couple of finals, then gets rogered by the eventual premier on the penultimate day. Where have I heard that before🤔🤔🤔

I reckon Geelong would be internally seething at losing to us. They have many old players that need a rest and Duncan and Touey that are due back soonish. The pre finals bye would have been huge for them. That’s gone and now they have only a six day break and play away to Port.

we are younger and in form. Port and Lions in form also so things are turning against the Cats. Cats are also 1-7 in their last 8 week one finals games.

once they are gone, I will really start to believe we can do it

Nah. Both games are in Launceston (3 hour drive each way from my place), I’m busy on Saturday and don’t want to spend my only weekend day in the car. Would have gone if it was in Hobart though.

Bombers have a pretty solid following in Tassie so that was expected. I’m pleasantly surprised the Sydney GWS game sold out so quickly too though.

The real question is would you make that trip for the Demons? 😜

The similarities between Melbourne of 2004 and the Dogs of 2021 are quite amazing.

Both sides were on top of the ladder late in the season.

Both sides fell off the cliff losing their last 3-4 games.

Both sides finished 5th and played/will play Essendon in their respective years.

Will Essendon end their finals wins drought, which ironically commenced the year after they beat the 2004 Melbourne side.

Huge in for Geelong, assuming he's match fit enough.

Tuohy would've been really handy for them as well.

I give the Cats a white hot chance on Friday night as they'll be stinging from last weekend. Then I can see them making the GF without much fuss.

I think all games are hard to predict. Can throw a coin in the air about geelong and port. Probably Essenscum over dogs                          ( unfortunately ). I think gws over sydney. Swans have goodplayers like millls and Kennedy injured.

Can't see Geelong making the GF.

They have a few players who have recently come back from injury: Rohan, Cameron, Duncan, Miers and Atkins.  Dangerfield was ill  for part of the last qtr (or maybe rested?) and Selwood played only 64% of the game (carrying an injury?).  So they aren't at great levels of fitness.

After the Port game the rest of their finals will be on the wide open spaces of Optus.  A challenge as they have played 4 of their last 5 games at the much smaller GMHBA.

Just can't see them winning at Optus.

Out in straight sets, I hope?  And Scott's legendary finals records of losses continues.

I have no idea who to support tonight or put more accurately, who to barrack against. I have a greater dislike of Geelong but that doesnt always translate to who you end up barracking for game night...if that makes sense?

Man I sick of seeing Geelong in finals - 15 bloody years.  I hope Danger never wins a flag and I hope Selwood doesn't win one as captain and I hope Scott doesnt win his first real flag (the canteen lady could have coached them in 2011).

Glad I'm not being too emotional or childish about this.

In summary, I don't like the Cats

Reading between the lines I'm guessing you are no fan of the Cats - don't really say I blame you Chris Scott is a bit hard to warm to

I’m amazed that Port are favourites, I think Geelong will win comfortably.

I agree. They will cruise home. I don't rate Port at all. The crowd will help but if Geelong get on top early they can nullify that.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
