Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Does anyone know where I can find this? Apparently he was quite emotional.

I just love how the guys always mention us Melbourne supporters in interviews, I feel like it's something Goody has really bought to the club is a sense of respect for the clubs history and wanting to write a new and successful chapter that we can be proud of.

Brilliant. He was in tears. And so was I.

And I loved how at the end he thanked them for having him.

And then before the team sung the song, and they realised they needed mask (which might have been tracc?l he was the one tbst grabbed a bag of them and handed them out.

All class.

It’s honestly great to see the players finally love this club like we all do. Us supporters are in good hands with this mob. To think back that a few years ago players wanted out and now we have players with have tears In their eyes because they love this bloody footy club.
I had tears after the hawthorn game because I looked around and everyone was happy, hugging and smiling. Before that if you looked around people were crying because they didn’t know how long left they had of watching our beloved dees.
Enjoy every second, be proud!

no matter what happens this year I’m bloody proud because I know we are the right path for glory. It’s coming.

Trac expressed what being part of Melbourne means to me and I suspect all of us right now.  His emotion was clearly genuine.  For years we have copped the jibes, the stereotypes and the piercing jokes. Now it's our turn to give it back.

For those who can remember, Norm Smith's mantra was all about team.  I feel we have got this back in spades.  I just hope we can get there and I think if we can harness that sense of team, we will make it.

Right now, lets be proud to be part of the red and blue and despite any differences we may have on, here let's stick fat

Together, we are strong.

I’m glad he did mention us.

I know players hurt, and they did hurt basically from 2007 onwards uninterrupted.

But bloody hell, we hurt as well. 186, 148, losing to the Suns by ten goals and being told we got outmuscled by a team of 19 year olds (and Russel Howcroft allegedly nearly starting a riot at the pre match lunch), losing to the Lions when Roosy said we were a team waiting to be beaten (he wasn’t wrong), the St. Kilda game @Nasher mentioned where we lost in the last 30 seconds, the ‘I didn’t see that coming’ round one game of 2013.

I could go on and on.

I’m delighted Tracc and the boys are keeping us in mind as we’ve copped a lot of shif over a period of 10 years.

Goodwin mentions us all the time in his pressers.

I think the current group get what it’s about. Players and coaches come and go, but the supporters are the ones that are here through all the peaks and troughs. Christian Petracca was in high school when we were getting pummeled by 30 goals in Geelong. Kozi Pickett and Luke Jackson weren’t born yet when Troy Simmonds got shirtfronted by Michael Long and teenage Brad Green got punched in the throat by Dean Wallis while being held by the current Richmond coach.

They don’t have any of those memories. We have all of them. And we place our trust in the group to make positive memories for us, because we have absolutely no power to affect the outcome. We’re totally at their mercy.

The team and coach say they can’t wait to be playing in front of crowds again. If this group goes all the way, they’ll be cemented in our hearts, and they know it. They’re aware of why they’re there. They’re doing it for us.

I cried watching it live. I cried watching it when @Lord Nevposted it last night. I cried when I watched it again just before going to sleep. I just watched it again and guess what? Yep, crying again! Happy tears, happy tears.

Outstanding humility from Tracc.

....... and if he can shed tears on National TV, then I don't feel at all uncomfortable about blubbering in the privacy of our lounge room.

What a beautiful mature leader this guy has become. A gentleman and an exceptional player. His interview really got to me. I was already in hysterics when Gawn was lining up for goal, but this interview was next level.

Great interview.

Many of us have the scars of 50+ years - and there are many - but the players don't neccessarily have that.

I'm reminded of a Jason Taylor interview where he said we wanted to build a team that came through on a journey together and I honestly think we are that side now.

When you look at our drafting we have guys that have come thorugh together in Tracc, Oliver Viney, McDonald, Gawn, Salem, ANB, Harmes. Most of them are great mates but they have also embraced Lever, May Tommo and BBrown

A good mix of experience, 100+ games, young talent and guys who are in it together and understand the sense of history and the hurt of supporters.

Goodwin has been very vocal about the support base and I think they really mean it.

Its an exciting time to be a Dee fan.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
