Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs

Not much in the game. Biggest factor is Bont is a superstar. Thought Viney was very good big positive. As for the umpiring it make the game unwatchable. There is simply no logical explanation for the free kick count. Inexplicable plus throwing is clearly allowed.

Our worst skill even more so than goal kicking is ball handling, the amount of times we have first hands on the ball but don't come away with it is unbelievable' we fumble way too much, this is a one grab sport.

Hibberd, Jackson and ANB all out of form and been carried too long. Need some fresh faces.

Getting within 4 points after being reemed by the umps was a good effort really/ But just have to address the goal kicking and the fumbling.

Its not like we played badly, we just couldn't convert

I thought we controlled most of the play in the first half but missed 4 goals we should've kicked (Brown x2 Viney and Kozzie). They then kicked 2 just before halftime which ended up being the difference.

68 hit outs to 18 yet we lost the clearances? You would think full time coaches would somehow turn that dominance to our advantage but no, for most of the season it has meant little. Max’s real value this year has been his contested marking in defence and forward, but recently and certainly tonight that wasn’t there but he did get 6 clearances but then other mids should be doing that. Our obvious strengths are being nullified by the opposition it seems. And given the Hawks got cleaned up by the Crows tonight it seems we are playing no better than a bottom 8 team since round 13.

Think we need to start playing some of the kids to see what they have. Season is cooked unfortunately.
does anyone have the stats of how often it seems to be wet when play, feels like it always runs at our games.

Umpiring was diabolical.
Great game by Big Benny Briwn tonight…just needed to nail those first two.
I could be wrong but I feel like we are loading our training real hard at the moment and will start to look better next week.

Did I mention the umpiring…so amateur

There are two wildly unbalanced stats from that game, and all the others are remarkably tight. We won hit outs 68-18. They won free kicks 25-11. Every sport at the top level should aspire to the best possible quality of adjudication. This was not that. Doesn’t matter how you spin it, that was not a level playing field out there. Season free kick stats equally confirm the Bulldogs are getting a free ride through the season. The big question is why, but nobody’s asking it.

We worked hard to get back into it in the second half, every time we got close they answered with goals that would sap anyone’s confidence. The most disappointing thing apart from given them a start was the way we finished after getting back to 4 points with all the momentum.
From there on they were so much cleaner and we gave them too much space. We butchered some kicks late in the game and the pressure won’t die off in finals. We need to get better at that.

In a year where there is very little between the top sides, we are trending the wrong way at the wrong time of year.

There’s also been criticism of Burgess before that his teams come out firing and fade, I fear that may be us.

We don’t have the fight in us or the intelligence onfield to stem the flow. We continue to go head to head with teams in the middle and get slaughtered. Bont will get 3 votes, McCrae had 38, Libba 27, Daniel 34. If you let those guys get the footy, you just won’t win.

Our bottom 6 are not good enough for a flag, particularly when we’ll out of form

Our positioning around stoppages particularly in our def50 is abysmal. Bont and Smith killed us

We were fumbly, they were clean

our defence was terrible when the ball hit the ground

Petracca went missing in the last

We did nothing with Gawns dominance

Our small fwd were largely non existent. TMac ... what's happened to him?

Olivers 1st half was outstanding. 2nd half not so much

ANB seriously,  has any player ever had so many kicks smothered? He's so slow with ball in hand.  Drop him for mine.

Jackson just has no impact

Harmes was a liability

Jordon was hardly sighted

Petty was back to his bumbling best

And the umps were diarrhoea

Jackson definitely needs a rest. Jordan too.
Langdon and Spargo were out of touch tonight too.

Playing catch up footy all night, on a wet night and pathetic umpiring .

But I still feel we will beat them in finals

The smothers came about from some of our players inability to kick both sides of the body which gives them 2 goes at us !

e.g.AND moved onto Left foot ....clear, but then swung back to attampt Right Foot .......and caught !!! Otherwise I felt he played pretty well tonight.

This is becoming a much raised reason for our drop off, and there’s literally nothing to back it up, nor, if it weren’t a phantom, would the Bulldogs be doing any different.

Hard to disagree with any of that.

Think you were generous with the umpiring.

I would bring in Bedford for ANB.

I said Weid for Jackson as he  needed a rest. Don’t think he has taken a mark in weeks.

I think Hibberd is done.

They had a crack. They appeared tired. But a brave “top of the table” loss must be in the context of the diabolical losses against Adelaide Filth and Hawthorn last week. Those losses will haunt us when we finish third or fifth and have to go where the AFL send us. On the maggots, is was the sheer volume over the night, the inconsistencies rather than obvious howlers. Maggot 1 will guarantee the Dees never get close. Always, every time. Cheat.

It's difficult for me to watch that game and think, this wasn't umpire bias? they were hot on the trigger to give the Dogs free's but loathed to pay them the other way.

I know others won't agree with me but i genuinely do doubt the integrity of the game at times.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
