Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I like that. In the past some teams have had to release assistant coaches during finals when they've won a senior coaching gig.

I'd rather they stay then disrupt our playing group during September.

I recall Mark Neeld having to relinquish his post during Collingwood's final series when he took the Dee's top job. I was at our BnF night when he spoke to the adoring crowd during Collingwood's Preliminary Final win over the Hawks.

I don't think it's going to be an issue...

The Hawks are desperate to get Clarkson out and the Pies are desperate to get him in.

Something will happen in that space before we get to finals.

Kennett needs to let the cash meet his mouth...

I see it more as a blue jumper option.

Could be...but their current run of form makes that one a lot more interesting and harder to dump the incumbent.

I think the Blues are set for a run of success, who ever takes it forward will be a lucky coach.

edit: but Clarkson is going nowhere unless big mouth comes to the party with the cash...

Do you know how Brodie Kemp is going with them.

At one stage DL's were very keen to get him.

The list is too good 'daisy'...it would take a monumental f...up to stuff it up from here.

...but do agree they're up for the task.

their list is too good?  why are they 13th then?  seems like even the bombers and Freo have gone past them

Curnow cant get on the pitch. Cripps looks half the player he was.  they need another key fwd, key back and 2-3 more mids

Remember “They Know We’re Coming” from about 10 years ago? I’m sure they’re still coming; just taking their sweet time about it. ?

Re the Collingwood coaching appointment. The name that keeps bobbing up in the media (as a side-bar admittedly), as a strong candidate, is Adam Kingsley. He's currently at Richmond and well regarded. As an aside, I'd think Collingwood would be the last place Clarkson would want to end up.

Sometimes you have to take a deeper look. Who expected us to be where we are?

They've had issues but a list that has Walsh in the middle, Weitering as a KPD and McKay as KPF is a pretty good start.

They don't need to rely on Cripps any more.

They're well set to really move next season, they could even play finals this year. Well ahead of Freo and I think better balance at the moment than EFC but EFC are also coming...I don't think Freo are.

I reckon they'll click next year. Need the pre season to get their defensive mechanism clicking. If they get that sorted, look out. Their midfield depth is still poor and bringing in guys like Williams on big coin to play there and then not, is a big list problem. They need at least two more decent mids.

What this says to me is both wont be at the club next year! If so this is a serious concern as I attribute our excellent season mainly on Choco with some serious input from Yze. If we dont suceed this year I would move heaven and earth to get Choco to stay even it means Goodwin is no longer senior coach. Thats my spin on that radio report

If you hear the whole thing properly in context it doesn't say that at all.

Worth listening to before panicking.

Williams has said time and time again he doesn’t want to be a senior coach anymore. He is also not the right personality for a senior coach these days. He’s not people manager which is exactly what a senior coach is in modern footy.
Yze is another story but I think Pies and Blues have too much pressure from members to go down an unknown path. I’m still backing Clarkson and Lyon for these two jobs.

How did you come to that?

Didn’t hear that at all in Goodys presser?

Williams hasn't got the tank...can he develop it with a lot of hard work or is he happy to sit on the coin.

With Walsh now and the other kid whose name escapes me (high draft pick) who is now coming into his own they might sort this with just one more mid and Cripps going forward a bit.

They are the ones with the dogs I'm most concerned about over the next few years.

They just need to sort the coaching out (and get a stable board who won't go with popular opinion)...

You're talking about Dow? I don't rate him, but each to their own.

Yep, agreed, I'm most worried about them. More so than the Dogs, who haven't really changed their game plan significantly in 5 years.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
