Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

With the Saints it’s Jack. I was watching a match a couple of years ago and of the 18 Saints players on the ground, six were named Jack. A third!

And I know this because BT mentioned it at every possible opportunity.

Bring it on.

Agreed. I reckon finishing 1st is vital, because first will likely play a home qualifying final against an injury hit Brisbane or flakey Port for a place in the prelim.

Since playing us the Dogs have played at Optus, GMHBA, Optus, Marvel, Marvel, Metricon - it's not the ideal preparation for a cold and rainy MCG night match.

Perfect weather for getting away with throwing the ball.

Media are cranking up their 'we can't be trusted' story again which might be a good thing for this game. We should probably translate it into latin and add it to our club logo.

I am very bullish on this game. Well I think so as I will be picking them and only a couple behind in HS and AFL tipping comps. Assuming the leaders will go with the Dogs our Demons might help me catch up a bit. You have this Dees.

Thought it was interesting in Bradshaw’s after match interview that he alluded to playing the Bulldogs next week.  Thought it was a slip of the tongue but maybe they had already been told it could be a possibility …if they were told before the game maybe that’s what they were thinking about ..

Mr Bradshaw was my old typing teacher back in the 70s at Blacky High

The quality of editing is getting worse, I reckon every day I pick a mistake, I'm sure they don't employ proof readers anymore, saw "to" printed the other on the front page instead of "two"

Bit of laugh on the dogs big footy board.

Apparently we are kissed on the [censored] because this game has been brought forward 1 week.

I think they know a loss is imminent and already making excuses because dunkley will be out.

Ridiculous. Who says if we played them next week they wouldn’t lose a different key player to injury in the game prior?
It makes 0 difference if we play each other this week or next. It’s just a crying shame that both of these top of the ladder games have gone ahead with no crowds this year.

Maybe they should move the game to Marvel. On the Gus & Gawny podcast with Spargo as guest they said Marvel is better to play at without crowds than the G. The G just feels weird. I believe we are winless at the G without crowds over the last two seasons.

Interesting to also hear Gus use the word psychology when we were a few goals up at quarter time against the Hawks. Something that hasn’t happened all that often this season although we were up by a few against the Dogs last time we played them.

This game will be interesting tactically.

Last time we cut Libba out and "blocked the corridor" with Lever going hoarse from shouting it so often.  If they got the ball fwd it forced them out to the boundaries so had to take more difficult shots.  We learnt that lesson from the Adelaide loss.  Both tactics caught the Bulldogs by surprise.

Bulldogs would have learnt plenty from the Hawks game where they made May and Lever accountable, shut down Salem making it harder for us to attack down Langdon's wing.  In doing so they weakened our defensive and attacking weapons but not to the point of getting a big score or a win.  Bulldgos rested Libba last week.  They will be ready with counter measures for him and for the blocked corridor tactic.

And, we will learn plenty from their game vs GCS in which they were average.  While winning in recent times they aren't playing great football.  I saw vision that showed they hunt the ball in packs leaving themselves exposed on the outside.

I would really like to see Brayshaw back on the wing and we regain the extra defensive layer when he and Langdon roll back to reinforce our defence around the 50m arc.

It will be fascinating to watch how it pans out.

i think we will win.

If you’re implying that 3rd and 4th will be occupied by Brisbane and Port in whatever order, then I’d prefer we finish 2nd in order to avoid the added (mental) pressure of the expectations that go with being minor premiers.

That's an interesting view, but don't you think there is also an argument that finishing second after having been on top of the ladder for most of the season will add mental pressure because of the disappointing finish to the home and away season?

I'm quite confident about this game despite our recent average form.

We beat the doggies comprehensively last time out. Yes they'll have plans to deal with our tactics this time but as Mike Tyson used to say about his opponents "They all have a plan for me until i punch them in the face". They won't be able to handle our pressure ans we have a far superior defensive structure. Only thing that will thwart our chances is poor goal kicking. Not an outside possibility based on recent form.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
