Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Allison, might not look perhaps look he should but 6 goals is hard to ignore. Most first grab marks and is accurate even at 50 metres. He is a better kick than any forward we have in the seniors.

Bradtke surprised me - thought he did a pretty good job for most of the game, including some nice grabs. The backline in general was very solid. Bowey excellent first half, bit quieter in the second half. Joel Smith also very pleasing with his marking, defensive work and his kicking (!!!).

Bradtke has been playing KPD for the past few weeks & has improved with each outing. Thought he was quite good today.

Didn’t I hear one of the commentators last week say that Bedford is probably the number one small forward in the VFL? If that’s true, then I would expect them to persevere with him for a bit longer.

I haven't seen much of Casey this year, but he just didn't seem to do much today.  Maybe I wasn't paying attention at the right times?  I saw one nice centre break from him.  Still, to me he seems to have stagnated a bit and there are a lot of players ahead of him on our list.

just finished the replay

that backline tall combo of bradtke, joel smith, and turner worked an absolute treat, plus jetta taking care of business as always

bradtke impressive behind the ball

declase is class, bowey is super promising, sparrow and melksham look ready for afl, avb is a battering ram, weed is tall and works hard but doesn't take his marks, chandler and bedford okay but nothing amazing, and could ellison be the next fritsch - undersized tall forward type?

lots to work with to keep the pressure on the senior players

RM, I would have thought that there are two, Pickett and Spargo if you look at the role he plays.

Weid, Jetta, Sparrow, Lockhart, Vanders, Melk and Joel Smith all solid enough without really providing confidence that their weaknesses at AFL level wouldn’t offset their strengths.

Bedford’s unusual in that his greatest strength might be when he comes up for clearances and provide serious burst. If he’s to get a chance at AFL level he needs to be used like that. He’s just ok otherwise.

Declase certainly worth watching.

Bowey gets frustrated when he isn’t used and whilst it looks like he reads it well enough and works hard he can fall between the lines a little. I’ll repeat the call to start using him in different spots at Casey so he can push his case.

No one smashed the door down in that game from an AFL selection perspective.

Category 1 . (Would consider) Melksham

Category 2. (Keep it up) Sparrow Baker and AVB (just)

Category 3 ( Neutral) Weid Chandler Bedford

Bradtke is starting to look like  a footballer

I think so and he is very good kick for goal. His last after the siren was from 50 out and got there  no problem.

Yes he ain't a ruckman. Still worry about his weight. Tends to get muscled out of the way   often when under the ball. Melksham is a great kick he does not need a lot of the ball to cut up opposition with great delivery.

Sorry to bore everyone but I really enjoyed watching today at the ground. First half was far from a good display and if Werribee could have kicked reasonably they may have been in the game a lot longer. Werribee have a great ground and facilities. Pity we did not have as good ( outside of Casey I mean). However any day your side wins by 9 goals is a good day.

Thanks KC and all posters great to get the feedback and judging from the comments god help us if we have some serious injuries in the Ones as it appears that we are pretty light on in the Two’s despite the good win.

I wonder if there's a bit of succession planning going on for when May retires?  Give him a couple more years to grow into his body and develop skills and we might have a new FB.

Ok game today but has about 500% improvement to go get near May. First thing he needs is 10kg in weight.

And a big heads up for some great commentary from Demon star Libby Birch. Channel 7 should sign her up immediately and get rid of some of the boring boofheads they have on their panel!

Love listening to Daisy Pearce commentate is such a breath of fresh air.  Acutually understands the contemporary game and is able to offer some intelligent insight, compared to the usual drivel that comes out of some of the other has beens ex players and media announcer types.

I imagine listening to Libby is is similar.

It's about time some of the sub par comentators are put out to pasture.  Seems like some of them get given a job for life based on who they are and the profile they establish for themselves rather than how well they actually perform.

Typical VFL game where the AFL listed players wear down the VFL players and scoot away on the scoreboard. Thought Melksham and Déclassé were the best if needed. Bowey strong first half then quiet second. Would love to see Bedford and Chandler do more to put some pressure on to play a fourth speed forward but they are a long way off it.

Unfortunately for us, it could well work out that the lack of oppertunity for Bedford the to Kossie, ANB, Spargo etc could see him and perhaps Chandler end up at other AFL lists and thrive, without us getting much trade compo in return.  I wouldn't begrudge either of those guys for doing that (unless they went to Collingwood, Carlton or Essendon) as it must be really frustrating to be so close to the mark, but denied oppertunity to develop and perform at the top level.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
