Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tracc miked up

Since seeing Tracc miked up at training, a little thing has been gnawing me. “I hate these things”, or something like that, he said when planking.

I wonder why he didn't use more positive language. Such as;

This will help me break through the pain walls.

I'll do another minute, that way I'm sure to get the better of “add oppos stars”.

I'll push through easily, then when you are under pressure Clarry, I can make skittles of your opponents.

Not only that, but I can't see how the negative helps. Drains himself and others of energy.

I know some of it was with humour, “I'm shaking”, but I expect our leaders to go the extra miles and drag the younger ones with them.

Someone needs to take him aside and tell him about how to help push himself and others through the pain.

No.

Just would rather see a positive attitude to training, not complaining.

Why not enjoy pushing your body.

Develop some mental strength.

Did you know that swearing actually reduces the feeling of pain and increases pain tolerance?

Give him a break, it’s not like he wasn’t doing them.

As a leader, could be setting an example.

Do we want the lot of them carrying on.

He could be pushing himself more, not just getting through.

Lead by example, train as you would play.

Then take the training into game day.

Don’t worry Kev. The head in the clouds bunch on this forum see no cause for concern with what has happened over the past month. What is that old saying “ when the going gets tough, the tough get going”. And right now, the only direction we are going is south. It’s all about attitude and mental toughness from here, and I doubt we have that.

I'd revise his contract

Would rather they help him reach his potential.

Has fallen off his high standards, on the field and perhaps off it.

Early in the season he was compared with the best.

Hope he can get back to that, as it will go a long way to  the team being dominant again.

Lol come on mate

This is just how he is

He comes across in the media/360 as mature, but if you look at club footage and things like this he is quite immature and likes to joke around

Nothing wrong with it at all

Let him be his own person

You can't look at these things and get upset

This site is almost unreadable after a loss

What reason would you give for is slight form slump?

Early in his career,  was seen as carrying some weight.

Now he has his long term contract he may fall into habits of not doing all that is necessary and a bit more.

To be the best you really have to want it, as well as work hard off the field.

If he hit his passes into the 50, I would be still saying he is our saviour.

I question whether he is working hard enough (or has the will to do), on the track and not for sponsors and broadcasters.

He knows nuffies will pounce on anything

Not just nuffies, but opposition players could niggle about being both mentally and physically soft, if they watched and listened to him train.

If I was playing against him, would whisper, they'll make you plank if you fumble this. Every missed opportunity and its, that pain is effecting you, the track is waiting. All to distract and get in his head.

Would love to see him angry and really put some pain on the opponents.

He should be an enforcer and give Clarry and the lighter bodies some assistance. Hip and shoulder to the taggers, he is solid enough.

Nuffies will have opinions. I take that mantle with the positive gist you may have meant.

Well, we’ve certainly proven that true.

So you don't think training in a professional way is a reflection of our endeavours in the first halves, or, there is nothing to see here. A professional sportsman and group leader carries on during an exercise program, is reasonable.

Again, if that attitude is useful why don't they all complain as they perform the rigours?

Who is we?

And

Am I them?

Bloody group thinkers.

Have an opinion outside of the "we"and it is attacked.

Unless you mean "nuffie" as a respectful name.

Why not add something about training methods?

Even school kids are encouraged not to winge when exercising.

Ok, here goes….

I wish more grown adults were trained better to cope with adversity - so they didn’t go jumping at shadows when their football team gets beaten on the weekend.

Hang on, why attack me?

I'm having a go at Tracc, defend him if you can.

There is some truth behind every pun, joke or expression. Could be that he has a lazy nature and may be riddled with middle class entitlements.

That should give you (the "we") something that you can rebute.

It is only a game.

Adversity is yours or close people to you, having their life going down the drain, and coping with that.

As a Melbourne supporter,  I am well aware of where we sit in the AFL pecking order and will enjoy the matches whatever the outcome.

Even enjoy watching some of the maestros, and great teams not of MFC.

So I don't get your assumptions about me.

Until Tracc gets it together, he will be seen as an almost!

If I was playing on him, I'd be nicknaming him "plank". Remind him of his unwillingness at every possible moment.

Since there are no supporters for Tracc.

I'll give it a go.

Especially when others just give personal attacks or say nothing is "going on".

It is obvious he has a big heart and shares it with his team and friends.

Often appears to make them happier and included. Bringing high energy to the environment, with his antics.

When it comes to a will to work hard, you only have to look at his excursion to the USA and the substantial change to his body shape, his work ethic and the performances he has been producing.

He is also very vocal at supporting other hard work. He wouldn't do that if he wasn't doing the same.

This season he has had some great games and his ability to impose himself have been enormous.

Generally his yips infront of goal have disappeared.

He has also gained more consistency this season.

I can see him taking the rest of the season with a display that will shut all detractors up.

Of course he is professional (other than taking the mickey in the media), has a strong work ethic, and with leadership abilities. I wouldn't expect anything less from someone with such high aspirational goals.

He will tear Port apart.

Go Dees

Possibly the best verbal barb i've heard.

In fact, i'm upset that you have said it as it's so good that it will no doubt go viral and now opposition players will actually say it to him. It's likely that he will drop his bundle and now we wont win a final. It might possibly go so far that he will have to retire at the end of the year.

Thanks for ruining the season Kev. Good one.

I haven't really got that much of an aversion to Trac's planking grumbles, but I must say that the more of them I see, I'm really not a fan of these 'miked-up' video snippets the club does.  I think they come across a bit cocky and arrogant in the videos.

To be clear, I don't really have any issues with the players behaving the way they do at training as shown in the videos, as it's good for camaraderie and team spirits to have a good sense of humor and fun at training at the appropriate moments.  It's just that I think it's quite different to have a bit of a private joke and laugh with your mates than to broadcast it to the world.  No doubt the club wants some content for the website and fan engagement, but personally I think there are better ways.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
