Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You never know Jaded. The club have a number of measures that aren’t obvious to people outside the clubs inner circle.

Or people with eyes. Or fans who have half a clue.

Agree, but suspect they'll leave him there for a while, let him really build on the work he's doing.

It doesn't make much sense to me. If they were only going to play Brown a half at Casey,  why didn't they just select him for AFL this week?

I thought they were holding him off as a loading exercise, but it doesn't seem to make much sense.

Cmon its MFC Some selections are like Bingo numbers!

Wouldn’t it be the same old story though? Bloke dominates at VFL level and comes into the seniors and literally has no impact. We’ve seen it all before.

Did Brown actually play reduced minutes or are some posters just giving him an out. Plenty of people on the MFC Facebook page disputing that he played limited game time. 3 disposals for an entire game is very very poor. He was great last week. Would love to know his total minutes.

Well Goody can't give his usual inaccurate reports on any players in the Casey team. Overstates form and training far too much IMO.

Well, we’ve put ourselves in this situation by not picking Brown after he kicked 5. Now he has this weird “did he play” game and the angst sets in further.

IMO it can’t be Weid next week. We gave that an extended crack and it didn’t work.

Didn't Weid have 20+ touches and kick 1.3 or something last week too though? In thought I read he played week just didn't finish.

It’s perplexing. The MC seem to have done that thing where you tie yourself in knots convincing yourself something is the right thing to do. And then when you look back at it in the cold light of day - it’s just stupid and self defeating.

You recruited a FF, because you wanted to have two talls plus a resting ruck, and then TMac form and the first 6 games scuppers that planning? And to play a bloke on and off for a half only invites ridicule and pressure.

We have 7 weeks to fashion a forward line that has TMac, Brown, Jackson/Gawn, Fritsch, ANB, and Pickett. That is talented enough to score 80 points…

Mitch brown rolled his ankle last week..Bedford was ok tonight & Lockhart …chandler not so.

Where did you find out that’s what happened to Mitch Brown? I’ve found it frustrating to get info on it! He came off at quarter time last week and didn’t play this week, but they didn’t mention him at all in our injury list. Surely they could of mentioned he was a “test”.

I wonder if the late announcement of the Thursday night game through planning out?

ie teams were picked for Sat arvo already (not including Brown or Weid), then Sat arvo happened and they decided that the forward line needs changes, and with the short turn around they decide they want the "in" to be fresh enough so they don't have time to wait until after the game to decide so choose Brown and only play him for a half.

No mention of Bailey Laurie either was apparently in a sling at the footy..

Why didn't we try Daw or J.Smith up forward.  We seem to be back to making dumb decisions.

Worthy of consideration.

Last week on TV I thought Weid looked good but he is playing a role similar to TMacc who is excelling in that fed roaming role up to the wing. We need a deep target for him to kick too.

It was listening to the commentators who said he had rolled his ankle & the other comment was that Bedford was the top small forward in the VFL at present. So no other source of info !

Two fat ladies- 21.

All the 3's - 24

A 1 and a 4 - 32.

Maybe that's why I was banned from calling Bingo.

I’d like to see Bedford come in for Kozzy this week… he’s earned his chance and Kozzy needs a break in the VFL; hopefully he’ll also take a break from believing the hype.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
