Things I noticed.

Collingwood blocked very well for their key forwards.

Collingwood went harder for longer. We threatened but we didn't believe.

Our whole forward line was made ineffective due the pressure on our midfield and us being outnumbered regularly.

We are more comfortable in open space, especially ANB, Spargo, Fritta, Kozzy and TMAc. SCG doesn't suit us.

Defensively, Melksham would have made Maynard less effective. Fritta couldn't match the physicality of Maynard. We needed a change there.

Many times we were too safe kicking to the easy option rather than putting the ball into space and letting our forwards run.

Im not on a doomsday bandwagon, after a long long time im [censored] sick n tired of seeing results like this. Feel nervous going into games vs low teams, fine vs good teams. Sick of being on the bottom and when we do get near the top, don’t have the true desire to punish the low and dominate the league.

Our year is far from over, but we have just shown those around the top that we are still vulnerable. 

The worse thing is that after the first 5 minutes of the game we all saw the warning signs.  It starts with the flick handballs to no one, moves on to the missing of targets by foot, then the lack of defensive running.

Ohhhh please.  Slitting my wrists?  I suspect I have followed this footy team for a wee bit longer than you have.  I am 65 years of age and was there in '64.  11-2 is sensational, but if you want to win a flag, today's effort was deplorable.  That is all.  Pure and simple.

Perfect storm is a good way to describe it. It’s not often that I look at those kinds of factors but there are a few there that don’t help. Just don’t want to see too many more situations like that this year because the excuses won’t wash.

Yeah I hear you mate, seriously I was pretty deflated after today's display.

I either buy into the theory that a hard fought 13 rounds have caught up with the boys, or they couldn't be stuffed, and while there may have been a few out there who might be guilty of that, I choose to believe this is a different team with a different mindset, as is evidenced by the results this year. 

It's both comforting and worrying that our only two losses have come against 16th and 12th on the ladder. In years past, those are the teams we would have flogged while failing to show up against the real deals.

Should we have won today? Absolutely. But it won't waver my belief in the team/year. As we continue to build on this new direction we'll continue to win these games. The cats and tigers of recent times had to start somewhere...

I’m so over this argument on this forum. Every difference of opinion diverts to ‘how long have you supported the club for?’, instead of debating the facts.

In this case so called ‘supporters’ taking pot shots at the club even when we are doing well. When you call them on their childish reactions to ONE loss, it somehow becomes about how they’ve been a supporter for longer than you.

It’s garbage. It’s not supportive to use any opportunity to try and rubbish us when we are on top of the ladder. That’s by definition not ‘support’, and if you’ve been doing it for a long period of time you need to ask yourself some hard questions about what you think you’re ‘supporting’.

And I don’t care how old you are. If you’re acting like a child you’re never to old to be called out for it.

We stay top of the ladder. The should now be angry, and hopefully that will sit in their guts until September

I don’t know about this burn in the guts for 2 weeks theory, I would have much rather preferred to play next week and backlash. 2 weeks is just too long for everyone and builds pressure up in the mind. For us anyway.

Don't reckon I've ever walked away from watching a Collingwood game and thought the Pies were soft. Reckon our players were a bit soft today...another area where old habits are probably going to die hard and will continue to make us vulnerable against intense pressure.

I'll go for the two positives for me and it was Jackson and Jordon.

Jackson was the only forward willing to apply any pressure and was rewarded for that run down tackle. His around the ground work is phenomenal. 

Jordon played 56% game time and cracked in with 23 disposals at 84% disposal efficiency. He played team first football and not this junk Hollywood crap Oliver and Petracca were dishing up.

Well. A long trip back to Wangaratta. Still smiling as I got to spend the whole day with my daughter and had some meaningful talk with her partner.

Spent the game waiting for the reset that never came.

Seemed like we lost our defensive mindset and our system broke down. I was hoping that the tactical minds on here could describe how things turned out so

Badly today. We were also at full strength? Perhaps fatigue had set in, better to

learn the lesson today. 2 losses thus far for a total of just 18 points!

Could have been a 7 goal loss today. Was Lingers OK, barely noticed him.

Not long ago we were content in the same way after 3 or 4 win seasons.

I thought about Richmond and I am blown away by what they have done and

what they continue to do. They are the real deal. We are the Daniel to their Mr Myagi.

I am excited by what we can become. We all have had trauma as Dees supporters.

Let's enjoy the ride and celebrate each scalp we get. Still smiling!

I posted this in trust the demons, but thought it relevant for post game. I know I am going to sound stupid, but I really thought the SCG was a poor choice for us, too small, didn't allow us to take advantage of our fitness and repeat entries came a little quicker. We are a better team on big decks I feel. I would be very comfortable with a change or two, Weid who I have supported has had his turn, not the end just a reset. I would like to see Sparrow given another game to find a true form line.

This is the point, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to drop games during our 11-2 start but fact is that is only our second loss for the year and by far the worst performance. 

The players responded well after the Adelaide loss, this is their chance to learn and respond again.

Sure. I should have said "contributed to costing us the game". IMO, the shortness of the ground did not help us set up and did not allow us to exploit our traits as much as a bigger ground would have.
